List of Armor
Body armor in the Golden Sun series belong to multiple classes which distinguish themselves by which individual Adepts can equip them. The pieces of armor listed here belong to the Armor class of armor, which can be equipped by all warrior-style Adepts to date: Isaac and Garet in the first game; Felix and Piers in the second game; Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo in the third game.
All armors that are counted as "common" are armors that can be bought in unlimited quantities in an armor vendor's Buy menu and are sold without event. All armors that are counted as Artifacts are special, stronger armors that do not appear in the Buy menu. These are bought and sold individually and usually are unique, and if one appears in the Artifacts menu of a town's vendor that one armor can be bought by itself and then be sold by itself anytime afterwards to reappear in the Artifacts menu. The vendor shopkeeper will specifically remark about how rare a find your Artifact is whenever you specifically sell one.
The prices the games assign to each armor are quite reliable indicators of how good each armor is as they measure against each other in actual battle. An armor that is priced higher than another is generally superior to that other armor even if the other weapon has a higher physical defense rating than the more expensive armor. Therefore, the following armors are all arranged by price. Also, they are divided into groups based on what game they first appear in. Keep in mind that many of these pieces of armor continue to be used in later games, even if they are not listed under that game's list of Armor.
Armor introduced in Golden Sun
The following pieces of armor have been around since the original Golden Sun game:
Leather Armor: A common Armor that increases base Defense by 12. It is sold in armor vendors at Bilibin, Imil, and Kolima in Golden Sun, at Alhafra and Garoh in The Lost Age, and at Harapa and Ayuthay in Dark Dawn. It can be bought for 240 coins and sold for 180 coins.
Psynergy Armor: A common Armor that increases base Defense by 21 and base PP by 20. While it is technically "common", in Golden Sun only one Psynergy Armor is found in the game, within a treasure chest in a well-hidden room in Mercury Lighthouse. In later games, however, it is sold as a common armor, in armor vendors at Mikasalla in The Lost Age and at Passaj in Dark Dawn. It can be bought for 1000 coins and sold for 750 coins.
Chain Mail: A common Armor that increases base Defense by 25. It is sold in armor vendors at Altin and Kalay in Golden Sun, at Kibombo in The Lost Age, and at Te Rya Village in Dark Dawn. Armored Shell: A common Armor that increases base Defense by 30. It is sold in armor vendors at Tolbi in Golden Sun, at Apojii Islands in The Lost Age, and at Belinsk, Port Rago, and at Champa Camp in Dark Dawn. It can be bought for 3600 coins and sold for 2700 coins.
Spirit Armor: An Artifact that increases base Defense by 32 and all four of an Adept's elemental resistances by 15. It is obtained randomly as a prize in Tolbi Spring won with Lucky Medals. It can be bought for 4000 coins and sold for 3000 coins.
Plate Mail: A common Armor that increases base Defense by 33. It is sold in armor vendors at Lunpa in Golden Sun, at Champa in The Lost Age, and at Saha Town in Dark Dawn. It can be bought for 4400 coins and sold for 3300 coins.

It can be bought for 14000 coins and sold for 10500 coins.
Asura's Armor: An Artifact that increases base Defense by 42, base Attack by 5, and HP recovery rate by 8 points. Demon Mail: A Cursed Artifact that increases base Defense by 50 but lowers Jupiter resistance by 10. In Dark Dawn, it is found in a treasure chest in Port Rago. It can be bought for 4800 coins and sold for 3600 coins.
Phantasmal Mail: An Artifact that increases base Defense by 38, and it can be used as an item while in the inventory of an Adept that is able to equip it (but it does not necessarily have to be actually equipped) to inflict up to three enemies with Delusion during battle, though there is a chance its functionality as a Usable item will break and it will have to be repaired to reuse its Use effect. It is found in a treasure chest in Izumo Ruins. It can be bought for 5800 coins, sold while intact for 4350 coins, sold while broken for 2900 coins, and repaired for 1450 coins.

It can be bought for 9700 coins and sold for 7275 coins. Not to be confused with the Dragon Mail in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
Chronos Mail: An Artifact that increases base Defense by 47, and base HP by 30. In The Lost Age, it is only bought randomly by bringing a Golem Core forgeable material to the blacksmith in Yallam so that he may create one of several possible, randomly determined items from it, including this one.
