Landmarks
Enemies
Many monsters roam the plains and woods between villages. It would appear that, like the protagonists, monsters cannot cross barriers such as mountains and rivers, meaning that different monsters appear in different regions.
The following regions are listed in the general order they are explored in:
Goma region
Located in western Angara, this region has been settled by refugees from Vale. It encompasses Mt. Aleph, the Lookout Cabin, Patcher's Place, and Carver's Camp. It is bordered by Kalay to the southwest, Bilibin to the northeast, the Khiren Mountains to the east, and Ei-Jei to the southeast. In Dark Dawn, only the Ei-Jei region can be accessed, via the Konpa Ruins, after which players cannot return to this region.

Western Ei-Jei region
Cut off from the rest of Ei-Jei by steep cliffs, this region takes up the bulk of southeast Angara. It features four major settlements: Harapa, Passaj, Kaocho, and Ayuthay. It is bordered to the north by the Khiren Mountains and to the west by the Goma region.

Due to an apparent programming oversight, the bestiary of the eastern Ei-Jei region is used in place of the normal bestiary above. Thankfully, this bug only occurs while hugging the ridge east of Kaocho.
Khiren region
The perpetually snowbound Khiren region is surrounded by mountains on all sides, although the Teppe Ruins in the northeast cut through the mountains to the Morgal region. Just south of the ruins is the region's only settlement, Te Rya Village. This region becomes inaccessible during the Grave Eclipse.

Morgal region
Filling up all of northeastern Angara, this region includes Belinsk, Port Rago, Saha Town and Kolima Village. It also includes half of Border Town, a trading village that connects Morgal to Bilibin to the west. South of Morgal is the Khiren Mountains and Sana, although the latter cannot be reached by foot. This region becomes inaccessible during the Grave Eclipse.

Furrow is found on the small island just outside the exit to Teppe Ruins. Gears is located on the peninsula north of Border Town.
Eastern Ei-Jei region
Nestled in the southeast corner of Angara and separated from the rest of Ei-Jei by steep cliffs, most of this reigon is taken up by the country of Sana; Sana's capital, Tonfon, is located along the eastern coast. The rest of this region is home to Champa, which can only be accessed via the southern coast. To the north is the Morgal region which cannot be reached by foot due to mountainous terrain, although the entrance to the Endless Wall is located on the Sanan side of the mountains.
Far North region
Story
Following the Golden Sun event, Angara's geography changed. The continent became separated from Gondowan, and was internally divided by vast mountain ranges. The survivors of the destroyed village of Vale spread throughout the Goma region; meanwhile, the rest of the continent was divided into large countries: Bilibin, Sana, Morgal, Ayuthay, Champa, Kalay, and Imil being the known ones. Some of these countries began trade with island nations in the Great Eastern Sea, specifically Morgal, Sana, Champa, and Ayuthay. The country of Sana developed into a vast empire which covered an undefined portion of Angara, but later collapsed when the Beastmen of Morgal revolted against their conquerors.
Isaac and Garet built a house near Mt. Aleph, where they monitored it. Every ten years, they found that Weyard was plagued by Psynergy Vortexes, which threw the land out of balance. Thirty years after the Golden Sun event, Isaac and Garet sent their respective children, Matthew and Tyrell, along with Ivan's daughter Karis, on a quest to retrieve a Mountain Roc feather. Their journey took them across much of Angara, where they came face to face with many of the new countries, gaining both allies and enemies. Early in their journey, the young adepts became trapped in the southern Ei-Jei region, forcing them to revive ancient Alchemy Machines, in order to create a passage across the mountains. These Alchemy Machines had a powerful effect, transforming the Ei-Jei region from desert to hydrated grassland and forest. Later on, the group was manipulated into helping to cause the Grave Eclipse, which engulfed much of Angara in darkness, and caused many monsters to attack the cities. The Adepts left Angara to search for a way to reverse the Eclipse, but eventually returned to access the Apollo Lens, located at the heart of the continent in the highest peaks of the Khiren Mountains.
