Golden Sun: Dark Dawn/String Dump (Part 7)

From Golden Sun Universe

This reference page features cleaned-up versions of most of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn's in-game text strings that are expressed as dialogue. To facilitate legibility, all strings that are parts of either mandatory or otherwise significant cutscenes will list the characters speaking them in [Bold], whereas all optional strings will not list any character names. Instances of junk strings are also removed. Each collapsible section represents the contents of a different .dat1 file, the file name of which is listed in the title.

Belinsk Ruins

Belinsk Ruins first hall (msg_brfn_ruin_1b1)

[Sveta] I will wait here. When you've finished your preparations, come back and see me.

[Sveta] I'll give this back to you now.

[Sveta] Let's get moving!

[System Message] The pedestal here looks like you could place something on it.

Belinsk Ruins open-floor hall (msg_brfn_ruin_1b3)

[Sveta] You came as promised. Thank you.

[Rief] Sveta...

[Tyrell] What's the deal? You're part of the Morgal royal family!

[Sveta] Nothing escapes you, does it, Tyrell?

[Tyrell] That's right! So why the big secret?!

[Sveta] Shh! You mustn't raise your voice, or they'll find us.

[Karis] Who?

[Sveta] The Tuaparang commanders in here with us.

[Sveta] I believe you have already encountered Blados and Chalis?

[Tyrell] They're from Tuaparang? Why are they in Belinsk?

[Karis] I've heard of Tuaparang, but I don't know much about it.

[Sveta] It's a country ruled over by someone they called the "High Empyror."

[Sveta] Tuaparang seems to be focused entirely on military power and conquest rather than helping its citizens.

[Sveta] It saddens me deeply to imagine such a place.

[Amiti] But, Sveta, how—

[Sveta] One more thing—please understand that I never wanted to mislead you.

[Sveta] But that poor girl, Hou Ju, was imprisoned after losing her parents. I thought if I helped her brother...

[Rief] Ah, so that's the trap that Blados used on you.

[Sveta] What?

[Tyrell] Blados used you.

[Sveta] No...that can't be...

[Sveta] That would mean my brother...

[Sveta] Volechek would have to have been part of Blados's scheme... Why would he...?

[Sveta] So you all were... And Hou Ju was...

[Sveta] Magma Orb? What's that? Ah... A power source for the ruins...

[Sveta] And Ryu Kou stole it? Why would he do something so dangerous?

[Rief] Amazing! Did you get all that from our minds?

[Amiti] Sveta, that was astounding. I knew you had an extrasensory ability, but still, most impressive.

[Sveta] Really? I'm glad you appreciate it, but I wish it was gone. Life would be better without it.

[Karis] My father felt the same way, Sveta. I know living with telepathy can be hard, but I—

[Tyrell] A-HEM!

[Tyrell] Sorry to butt in on your "special time," but we do kind of have a job to do here.

[Sveta] Matthew, I'm sorry for getting you all involved without telling you the whole story. Can you forgive me?

[Sveta] I'll take your smile as forgiveness. Thank you.

[Sveta] I see. It's not me but my brother that you're angry with. I can't imagine what he's up to!

[Sveta] Yes, I'm also saddened at the idea that my brother would side with the Tuaparang against me...

[Sveta] You're right! We have both been deceived. All the more reason to put aside our differences, then.

[Sveta] Thank you for understanding.

[Rief] So that's all settled?

[Tyrell] Huh? Why are you looking at me?

[Rief] I'm just making sure that we've ALL forgiven Sveta now.

[Tyrell] Oh, that? Yeah, we're good.

[Karis] Wonderful! Also, if you're willing to come with us, Sveta, I'm sure you'll be very useful.

[Amiti] Certainly. An Adept with extraordinary abilities and who knows her way around Belinsk sounds ideal.

[Sveta] Thank you for the vote of confidence, but I don't actually know much about the ruins.

[Sveta] This area is just one part of the ruins complex, and I've only been here a few times.

[Sveta] But we should be fine. I walked south to get here, so if we head north, we should get to the castle.

[Tyrell] Finally! Some information we can actually use!

[Sveta] All right, let's head to the castle.

The pedestal here looks like you could place something on it.

[Sveta] Matthew, I believe you're going the wrong way.

[Sveta] We need to go north to get into Belinsk Castle. Or did you have business to the south?

[Sveta] I understand you are interested in the ruins, but they can wait. Now, we need to get into Belinsk Castle.

[Sveta] Ah, you got turned around? No problem. Let's head north into the castle, then.

[Sveta] Our first priority must be to rescue Hou Ju. We can look into the ruins afterward.

Belinsk Ruins, under castle (msg_brfn_ruin_1b4)

[Sveta] Strange...

[Karis] What's wrong, Sveta?

[Sveta] The path is gone...

[Tyrell] Gone? Where'd it go?

[Sveta] I have no idea. What could be happening?

[Sveta] There was only one path—I couldn't have taken a wrong turn.

[Amiti] We should climb these stairs, should we not? And from there we can reach the castle?

[Sveta] Yes, that's right. We should be able to go right into the castle from there. I am confused.

[Rief] But with the path gone, we apparently can't get any farther north.

[Sveta] And so we can't get into Belinsk Castle.

[Sveta] Wait, did you all hear a buzzing sound? And the smell of hot oil? I think a machine is starting up.

[Sveta] How did you open the door just before we met again?

[Tyrell] Easy, we used a magma shard.

[Amiti] And we have seen platforms and such change in response to the shards.

[Matthew] ?!

[Karis] What's going on?

[Rief] No...

[Sveta] Something in these ruins...has activated.

[Tyrell] Because of a magma shard?

[Amiti] Surely not. A magma shard wouldn't have enough power... would it?

[Karis] I don't know, but it looks like our promise to Laurel may have been broken...

[Sveta] It must have been Ryu Kou. He had the Magma Orb. How could he do this?

[Amiti] We cannot find out from here. Let us proceed into the depths of the ruins.

[Tyrell] Let's get going. If we talk any longer, Eoleo will be soup by the time we get to him.

Belinsk Ruins, first gate (msg_brfn_ruin_2b_gate1)

[Tyrell] Uh... What are we looking at here?

[Amiti] It would appear to be a gate.

[Rief] A gate. Into the deepest part of the ruins, or so I would imagine.

[Karis] We've come this far. I guess we just keep going?

[Tyrell] Is someone pushing us a certain way? The Tuaparang, maybe?

[Karis] I don't know, but it doesn't feel like the Tuaparang to me...

[Tyrell] Who then?

[Tyrell] Sveta, what do you know about this gate?

[Sveta] Nothing. I thought this was a dead end.

[Sveta] But I agree with Karis.

[Sveta] We have no choice but to press on.

[Sveta] But I must admit... The ruins are amazing. I never dreamed anything like this was under Belinsk...

[Ryu Kou] We couldn't agree more!

[Sveta] I'm glad you finally decided to show yourselves.

[Karis] What do you mean?

[Sveta] Ryu Kou and Hou Zan have been following us through these passages for some time.

[Tyrell] That's it! Ryu Kou, you treacherous—

[Hou Zan] Please. Allow us to apologize for our recent actions.

[Amiti] Apologize?! I am afraid the stakes are too high for a simple apology to suffice.

[Karis] Everyone, please!

[Karis] We don't have time for infighting! Now let's—

[Sveta] I think we really have been led here. It's the only explanation that makes sense.

[Karis] Sveta's right. Something in the air says...

[Ryu Kou] Oh, something is off— there's no doubt.

[Ryu Kou] You see, Hou Zan and I weren't following you... Not intentionally, anyway.

[Ryu Kou] Considering how we parted ways before, it would have been tricky to track you down at all.

[Hou Zan] The young one is right. We entered these ruins entirely on our own.

[Ryu Kou] The path isn't particularly complicated, but suddenly our way back disappeared.

[Hou Zan] Since we couldn't go back, we forged on. Eventually we found you.

[Rief] Our story is similar. I suppose it's plausible the same thing happened to you.

[Ryu Kou] I wouldn't lie at a time like this. Hou Ju's life hangs by a thread.

[Karis] Well, without an obvious exit, all we can do is press on. Every minute we stand here, Eoleo...

[Hou Zan] One more thing—who are these Tuaparang you were talking about?

[Amiti] They are the fiends who set the Mountain Roc on us.

[Hou Zan] But you don't think it's them leading us around in here?

[Rief] That's what Karis and Sveta believe.

[Tyrell] I don't know who else it could be, though.

[Karis] I know that makes some sense, but it doesn't quite...feel like the answer.

[Karis] Ryu Kou, you have the Magma Orb. The Tuaparang could just take it and start the machine.

[Karis] But if that were the only goal, why not just do it? What else are they up to?

[Sveta] Hmm...

[Ryu Kou] Agreed. If the only goal is starting the machine, they could do it faster themselves.

[Hou Zan] There must be some explanation.

[Ryu Kou] So what do we do? Press on? Go back? I guess we can't actually go back, can we?

[Hou Zan] I can only speculate, but I suspect we have only to travel down this path to find our answers.

[Karis] Sveta, what's wrong?

[Sveta] Tonight is the full moon. The people of Belinsk will celebrate with a festival.

[Sveta] It is an important day for beastmen, but also for these ruins.

[Sveta] You see, the festival is not simply for the beastmen. It is the time we pray for the revival of the ancient civilization.

[Rief] And you think Volechek and the Tuaparang want to use us to bring that revival about?

[Tyrell] If that's so, heading down the path here is playing right into their scummy hands.

[Amiti] True. But our return path is gone, and we cannot sit idle. Every second brings Eoleo closer to the end.

[Karis] Well, we can try to force our way backward...or we can forge ahead. I don't know which is worse.

[Karis] Whatever we do, we can't lose sight of the fact we're here to save Eoleo and Hou Ju.

[Karis] I guess this is why you're the leader, Matthew. Lead on.

Belinsk Ruins, soldier statues (msg_brfn_ruin_2b_gate2)

[Ryu Kou] Now where are we?

[Rief] I don't know, but that seems important.

[Amiti] Another gate. I wonder how many there are...

[Tyrell] Hey—look over there!

[Matthew] ?!

[Karis] What...?

[Rief] Oh my...

[Amiti] What happened here?

[Ryu Kou] Look at all this...

[Hou Zan] It's...breathtaking.

[Ryu Kou] It looks like a war happened in this room...

[Hou Zan] But who fought it? It looks like the soldiers were fighting the statues...?

[Ryu Kou] Why not? We've already seen a divine stone bird. Statues coming to life seems positively tame.

[Matthew] ...

[Rief] Hmmm... Take a look at the remains of that statue.

[Tyrell] It's embedded in the stone wall... Who could have done that?

[Hou Zan] I suppose it would have to be an Adept, wouldn't it?

[Karis] It would take a tremendously powerful Adept to bury a statue in the wall like that.

[Amiti] Do you think this mysterious Adept went through the gate after the battle?

[Tyrell] Well, anybody strong enough to do all this would have won the fight, so...probably?

[Karis] Unless something other than raw power is necessary to pass through the gate...

[Rief] Regardless, it would seem that the Tuaparang have again anticipated our path through the ruins.

[Tyrell] Yeah, I guess so...

[Hou Zan] Who are these Tuaparang?

[Amiti] You know them as Blados and Chalis. They come from a country called Tuaparang.

[Sveta] It's ruled over by someone called the High Empyror, who pursues military power above all else.

[Ryu Kou] If that's so, I imagine this High Empyror leads his army personally.

[Sveta] I wouldn't know. Military matters are not something I've ever studied.

[Rief] It seems absurd even to call such a place a country. It sounds like one massive army.

[Ryu Kou] So do you know why these Tuaparang were trying to bring you all to Belinsk?

[Karis] I wish we knew. If we understood their goals, we might start getting some real answers. But we know nothing.

[Sveta] What we do know is that they are amoral, ruthless... and partnered with my brother.

[Amiti] This one here... Was he a Tuaparang?

[Tyrell] Yeah, I think we've seen that uniform...

[Rief] You're right! That's definitely a Tuaparang soldier.

[Ryu Kou] That would suggest that the Tuaparang are after something in these ruins.

[Karis] Well, Matthew, what's our next move?

[Karis] You're right. There's no reason to backtrack, so we have no choice but to continue onward.

[Karis] Just rush right in and get the jump on them? Sounds aggressive, but it might just work!

[Karis] I know it's hard, but you're our leader, Matthew. We all have faith that you can get us through this.

[Karis] Right! Whatever they're up to, they must need us for it, so we've got the advantage! Let's get 'em!

[Ryu Kou] Sounds like we're moving on. We're not much use in battle, but we'll stick with you to the end.

[Ward] I am one of the Wards. Ye visitors to Luna Tower, be ye descendants of the exalted Jenei?

[Ward] The way to the heart of Luna Tower will open only to those who unite the power of all four Psynergies.

[Ward] If ye seek access to Luna's heart, present the powers of the four Psynergies.

[Ward] If ye truly be children of the Jenei, open the way before ye with your own powers—and unseal Luna Tower.

[Rief] It would appear we're at the cusp of reaching the tower's core.

[Tyrell] Yeah, but how do we "present the powers of the four Psynergies"?

[Amiti] And do we even want to unseal this tower? What of our promise to Laurel?

[Karis] I agree. I feel like we might be in a bit over our heads here.

[Sveta] Yes. This gate has stood sealed for many generations. I feel it must hold something dangerous.

[Ryu Kou] The Ward said something about using Psynergy, right? That's not our strong suit, so we'll sit this out.

[Tyrell] Funny how those guys are always ready to sit it out whenever things look a little dangerous...

[Rief] Relax, everyone. We don't have time to argue. Hou Ju and Eoleo are counting on us!

[Ward] Then your presence is an intrusion. Leave this place.

Arriving at Alchemy Dynamo (msg_brfn_ruin_7b_arcm_0)

[Ward] It is good to see the clans acting in concert once more. Welcome, children of the Jenei.

[Ward] You may now access the core of Luna Tower.

[Ward] Behold the heart of the tower, the Alchemy Dynamo.

[Ward] Now place the power source within the Alchemy Dynamo. Activate Luna Tower.

[Ryu Kou] Power source? That must mean the Magma Orb, right?

[Ryu Kou] What do you think, Hou Zan?

[Rief] Don't do it, Ryu Kou.

[Rief] We made a promise to Laurel. We can't break our word and activate this machine.

[Ryu Kou] Correction: YOU made a promise to Laurel. I didn't promise anything to anyone.

[Rief] But we have to take her warning seriously. And doesn't this place feel...different than the other ruins?

[Rief] Yes, from Laurel's warning to the strong defenses, this place is clearly dangerous.

[Rief] There's no sense yelling at Ryu Kou— we have to reason with him about the danger here.

[Rief] No, Matthew, we mustn't lose hope! We have to convince Ryu Kou of the danger!

[Rief] We can't just rush into this. Think about the defenses and Laurel's warning. Danger is afoot.

[Masked Man] You're right about one thing— placing the Magma Orb into the core will unseal the tower.

[Blados] You really did make it. I guess you win our bet, Chalis.

[Chalis] Yes, thank you, dear Matthew! I feel like I could hug you.

[Tyrell] You! Did you jerks follow us all the way down here?!

[Blados] Not at all. We just kept tabs to make sure you would make it here.

[Chalis] You all had me worried a few times. I thought about offering some help, but I didn't think you would accept it.

[Matthew] !!

[Karis] We've had enough of your "help."

[Tyrell] Yeah, who do you think you're fooling?

[Rief] I wouldn't trust you to lace my shoes.

[Amiti] If you think we would trust you, then you have severely underestimated us.

[Sveta] I know Blados and Chalis, but who...?

[Ryu Kou] Why are you here?

[Hou Zan] Be careful, young one. We don't know their intentions.

[Masked Man] Enough. Place the orb in the machine. Now.

[Masked Man] You don't want to know what will happen if you don't cooperate.

[Tyrell] Oh, yeah? I'm kinda curious, actually.

[Blados] Then I guess we have to show you. Darn.

[Chalis] Agreed. It's time to show these little brats who's in charge here.

Alchemy Dynamo, after fight (msg_brfn_ruin_7b_arcm_1)

[Blados] Not bad. I guess we did underestimate you.

[Chalis] Let's not be too hasty. We were outnumbered, after all.

[Blados] Yeah. And even if we lost the battle, we did actually win the war...

[Amiti] What are you— Where is Ryu Kou?!

[Karis] Ryu Kou! No!

[Masked Man] You'll want to stay right where you are and watch. History is about to happen in front of you.

[Tyrell] You're crazy if you think we'll let you—

[Masked Man] That wasn't a request.

[Rief] ...Who are you?

[Masked Man] Explanations can wait. Right now, Luna Tower is about to be activated.

[Amiti] But why? What do you Tuaparang stand to gain with this?

[Masked Man] How clever of you to have discovered Tuaparang's involvement...

[Masked Man] Or perhaps not so clever... Did you tip our hand, Sveta?

[Sveta] Of course. Unlike my brother, I want nothing to do with the foul Tuaparang!

[Masked Man] Is that so? Well, I might be hurt by your words... if I were a Tuaparang.

[Masked Man] Ah, it looks like the time has come.

[Masked Man] Start the machine.

[Matthew] !!

[Karis] Ryu Kou, you mustn't.

[Rief] Don't do it.

[Tyrell] Think about Laurel's warning!

[Amiti] This must not happen.

[Sveta] My brother...has won.

[Masked Man] I won't force you, but I will mention that your sister's safety does hang in the balance.

[Hou Zan] What...is happening?

[Hou Zan] Ryu Kou, why?

[Ryu Kou] I didn't have a choice...

[Hou Zan] This is your fault, monster!

[Masked Man] In what way could this possibly be my fault? Ryu Kou has done this by his own hand.

[Hou Zan] Hide behind your excuses, coward. I swear you will pay for what you've done here.

[Masked Man] How many times must I demonstrate to you tiresome insects that you can't beat me in battle?

[Hou Zan] At least once more, apparently.

[Tyrell] Face us, you masked coward!

[Arcanus] I tire of being addressed by my mask. In the future, you may call me Arcanus.

[Karis] Arcanus, what are you and the Tuaparang after? Why did you want the tower activated?

[Arcanus] You know that your parents saved the world by restoring the principles of Alchemy, yes?

[Tyrell] Of course. So what?

[Arcanus] I see you haven't drawn the connection yet.

[Arcanus] The lighthouses that your parents ignited were towers—machines very similar to the one we're standing in.

[Arcanus] Like the Elemental Lighthouses, this tower holds a force sealed away eons ago.

[Arcanus] The only difference is that the creators of this tower never wanted their prison breached.

[Tyrell] Never?! What have you tricked us into?

[Arcanus] Tricked you? I have been nothing but forthright and honest throughout our brief relationship.

[Ward] Commencing ascent. Evacuate tower immediately.

[Arcanus] Ah, sounds like it's time for me to take my leave. If you survive, perhaps we'll finish our talk another time.

[Arcanus] But know this—opening the seal on this dread machine was only the beginning.

[Arcanus] I look forward to our next meeting. Until then, farewell.

[Amiti] He is gone...

[Karis] We can't let that bother us now.

[Karis] If Arcanus needed to hurry out of here, we should be escaping too.

[Rief] Agreed. If the all-powerful Arcanus is worried, we should get out of here posthaste.

The masked man whom the king favors ordered us to let you pass. How do you know him?

Festival, music, towers popping out of the ground... This is the best day ever!

Something smells wrong about all this. I should know—I've got the best nose in the kingdom!

were the people of Morgal back in the age of Alchemy also beastmen?

If this eclipse is as serious as it seems, I imagine we ghosts will have lots of company soon...

Why did the ancients make so many machines that can wreck the world...?

Here lies a beloved wife and daughter.

At least I was buried near the opera house where I heard the music I loved...

Here lies a man grateful to have lived as long as he did.

After all my years walking the earth, nothing could have prepared me for this nightmarish eclipse.

We saw...the shadow of the moon...and then the monsters were on us.

The horror... The horror...

Monsters everywhere... Have to protect people... Can't really move, though...

I wanna go home...

[Sveta] Image? You mean you saw what's happening at the opera house too?

[Kraden] You think Volechek sent you that image? Maybe he's asking for your help.

[Kraden] Matthew! We need to get to the opera house with all haste!

[Kraden] Matthew, we should be going, and soon.

[Eoleo] Get me down from here!

[Eoleo] So this is the part where I'm supposed to thank you guys?

[Tyrell] Yeah, I think it is—since you're all not-boiled right now.

[Eoleo] Would my saying thanks make you feel good about yourself? Like a big boy?

[Amiti] I knew saving a pirate was a waste of our time.

[Eoleo] Lemme guess... you're from Ayuthay, right?

[Amiti] Yes. Why?

[Eoleo] Nothin'. I just never saw an Ayuthay wear real clothes before.

[Amiti] Are you TRYING to start a fight, you despicable thug?

[Kraden] That is enough!

[Kraden] We don't have the luxury of arguing right now. Our world needs us.

[Eoleo] Y-you...

[Karis] Do you actually know Kraden?

[Eoleo] You were with the Warriors of Vale! I'll always remember that.

[Kraden] I am truly impressed. You were but a toddler when we last met!

[Eoleo] And that face... It's been 30 years, but you look exactly the same... How?

[Kraden] You should know that it's not polite to stare at the elderly.

[Eoleo] Seriously, though—can anyone tell me why he looks exactly the same?

[Karis] Apparently something about the Golden Sun kept Kraden and the Warriors of Vale from getting old...er.

[Eoleo] If that's true, I gotta say I'm a little jealous.

[Kraden] Don't be. It's true that I don't age, but it's not quite as glamorous as it sounds.

[Tyrell] Yeah, it must stink to get to live forever after you're already super old.

[Kraden] That's enough about me. We need to get out of Belinsk as soon as possible.

[Eoleo] Not that I want to stay or anything, but what's the rush?

[Kraden] Luna will soon blot out Sol entirely.

[Matthew] ?!

[Karis] And what will happen then?

[Tyrell] Wow...

[Rief] What is that energy coming off the tower?

[Amiti] The sun is being swallowed up by the moon...

[Sveta] This can't be connected...

[Kraden] Matthew, we need to get to the pier immediately!

[Volechek] Forgive me for being such a fool. Those Tuaparang scum used me, and I didn't see until it was too late.

[Sveta] Of course I forgive you...

[Volechek] Where can I go but here?

[Sveta] Come with us!

[Volechek] I am king of Morgal. I cannot leave our capital when my own misjudgment may have destroyed it.

[Sveta] Then I will stay with you.

[Volechek] No, dear sister. I am the king, and you are the last of our line. My duty is to stay... Yours is to live.

[Sveta] No! I refuse! Dock the boat and let me off!

[Volechek] Good-bye, Sveta. I pray you live a long and happy life.

[Eoleo] Waaaaah!

[Eoleo] Ouch!

Belinsk Castle (msg_brfn_cas_1f1)

By order of the great masked warrior, you are allowed into the castle. Be grateful he deemed you worthy.

Many apologies, sirs and madams, but only the king is allowed into this area.

The ones you want are at the ends of these two halls. If you want to rescue the little girl first, head right.

I have never seen people so mad about the cancellation of a boiling! There could have been a riot.
Now that we can't execute him, would you just get the guy out of here? He's an eyesore.

The man we were going to boil? He's quite well. I try to take good care of our prisoners.

I wouldn't walk around in here too much... You might run into the king and his foul mood.

Why does the masked warrior find THEM so interesting? What's so special about them?

One look at the floor should let everyone know this is the king's private spot.
Can these people not remember they are common visitors to the home of a king?

With so many visitors lately, I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be guarding the castle FROM.

The festival just isn't the festival without a good boiling. Everybody is really disappointed...

What sort of people go to great lengths to rescue a worthless pirate?

I hear those strange people that came to rescue the princess also rescued the pirate. Who ARE they?

"Leave Belinsk as fast as I can"? Why would I want to do that? Can't you see I'm on duty?

King Volechek told us to leave the castle at once. I think he wants us out of the way to make more messes.

I must not have heard you right. Did you just tell me to flee Belinsk?
Huh. No, I don't think I'm gonna do that. Now move along.
Oh. Well, OK then. Must have been my imagination.

A terrible disaster coming? Tell me another one, kids.

King Volechek has a, shall we say, volatile temper. You'd best conclude your business and leave.

These night shifts are killing me! I can hardly wait for daybreak so I can go home to bed...

Three Sanans left here in a hurry. Probably worried about being captured again. Cowards.

I'm sure humans are nice and all, but how do they stand the way they smell?

I don't like all these pirate scum and friends of pirate scum prowling around...

What, they never seen a castle before? Time to take your grimy friend and get out of here, kids.

The king is a man of his word, so the pirate will be allowed to leave unharmed. But if he ever threatens Morgal again...

It's hard to get any work done with all these visitors tromping around. When will they leave?

Did you hear all those horrible screams coming from out in front of the castle?
Disturbing, weren't they? The king rode into town with his guards the second he heard the commotion.
You didn't hear it at all? Any of it? You humans have such terrible ears, it's a wonder you hear anything.

What are those groaning sounds coming from outside? Why would anyone want to sound so creepy?

Did you just get a chill up your spine? I've got this overpowering urge to go outside...

Once we've got all you visitors out of the castle, I'm going home to check on my family.

It's good to see King Volechek and his soldiers helping the people, but now the castle is almost unguarded...

I was going to go home at first light...but I think I'll stay in the castle for a while longer.

The screams outside sure sound like a battle, but who could be attacking the very heart of Morgal?

I wonder if those sounds are the groans of the ghosts of all the soldiers lost in our wars...

Remember your training... Don't worry about the horrible sounds outside... Your training...

I've never heard screams like that before... Should I go outside and see? Or should I wait for orders?

I wish King Volechek was here. Having the greatest warrior in Morgal nearby would be comforting.

I can feel every hair on my body standing on end... Something is about to happen...

Hold it. You're not allowed through here. You'll need to go around. Thank you for your cooperation.

Is that for me? Wow, I was just about to keel over from hunger! Thanks a whole bunch.
I guess I can let you pass through here if you don't tell anyone who let you in, OK?

[Woman] I don't want to tell you your job, but isn't it traditional to rescue the princess before the pirate?

[Woman] Then you'll need to start in the cells over there.

[Woman] What are you waiting for, a white horse to ride up on?

[Woman] Well, if you want to save the criminal scum first, this is the right place. But I can't say I support your decision.

Usually the city is alive with energy on festival days, but not today. Maybe because the boiling's canceled?

Belinsk Castle, 2nd floor (msg_brfn_cas_2f1)

I don't know how that tower appeared, but I'll bet King Volechek is somehow responsible. He is a remarkable leader.

I don't know where you're going, but this isn't the way there. Go back and find the right way.

I don't understand. The king said the tower would let Morgal live without fear, but he looked deathly pale just now...

Just because you're allowed in the gate doesn't mean you get to go everywhere you want, intruders...

I was told that the pirate has strange powers, so we tied him up for safety.

Dawn will be coming soon... I guess this festival is almost over...

Pardon me, but have you seen the king? I can't seem to locate him anywhere...

How could a tower cause some great catastrophe? Listen to what you're saying, friend.

Why did they cancel the boiling of that ill-mannered pirate? He really does need a good boiling...

The festival's always a good time... Pity they had to start on that down note by canceling the boiling...

The king looked most unsettled just now as he passed. Where was he heading?

Don't even think about trying to do something suspicious while I'm on duty!

I was told that the pirate has strange powers, so we tied him up for safety.

Dawn's gotta be pretty soon now... So much for another festival...

There's a strange noise coming from outside... Something that doesn't sound like man or beast...

My gut says something weird is happening in the city... I wonder if I should leave my post.

Why did they cancel the boiling of that ill-mannered pirate? He really does need a good boiling...

The festival's always a good time... Pity they had to start on that down note by canceling the boiling...

There are always odd sounds in the castle, but the noises tonight bother me for some reason...

What's wrong with me? Why am I sweating so much? Something to do with the commotion outside?

The pirate has strange powers of some sort. We had to tie him up outside to keep him put.

You'd be amazed at how being strung up like a piece of meat takes the fight out of you.

The pirate has strange powers of some sort. We had to tie him up outside to keep him put.

You'd be amazed at how being strung up like a piece of meat takes the fight out of you.

We're not here to take in the sights! We have to free Eoleo now!

Yeah, but how do we rescue someone we can't even reach?

Hey—I've got an idea! Sveta, can you knock him down with one of your powers?

I hadn't considered it, but yes, I believe I can. Leave it to me.

[Ryu Kou] Matthew, you wouldn't really help the sea thug before saving Hou Ju, would you?

[Ryu Kou] Are you insane?! Look, I can't stop you, but I do question your priorities and judgment.

[Ryu Kou] Whew! Well, then we need to take that path over there to where Hou Ju is!

Belinsk Castle, Hou Ju's cell (msg_brfn_cas_2f2)

[Hou Zan] Young one, look!

[Hou Ju] Wh-who's there?

[Ryu Kou] Hou Ju...

[Hou Ju] Ryu Kou? Is it really you?

[Hou Zan] I assure you it is. And we are here to rescue you, my lady.

[Hou Ju] That voice... Hou Zan! I'm so glad you're here!

[Ryu Kou] Now we just have to break open this lock somehow...

[Volechek] Do not trouble yourselves. I will be happy to open it for you.

[Sveta] M-my dear brother!

[Matthew] ?!

[Karis] Brother?

[Tyrell] But I thought Sveta's brother...

[Rief] ...was Volechek. Yes.

[Amiti] King Volechek?

[Sveta] Wh-why are you here?

[Volechek] Why so nervous, little sister? I won't bite. I just heard that you'd activated my tower, and I came to thank you.

[Volechek] It hurts me that you don't believe anything I've said. Perhaps this will convince you of my sincerity?

[Tyrell] Hmph. Maybe he is telling the truth.

[Rief] Quiet. He'll hear.

[Hou Ju] Ryu Kou...

[Ryu Kou] Hou Ju...

[Hou Zan] My lady...

[Kraden] Ah, a lovely and touching reunion...

[Kraden] Still, I imagine Eoleo would appreciate it if you'd wrap things up and release him.

[Volechek] Who are you?

[Rief] I'd know that voice anywhere...

[Kraden] I'm glad it's not been so long that you've forgotten me. Hopefully you remember your lessons as well.

[Kraden] I'm sorry it took me so long to get here. I hope you haven't been waiting around for me.

[Rief] Good to see you again, sir.

[Kraden] The sentiment is quite mutual, Rief. You look well.

[Volechek] Kraden, was it? Your name is familiar... Have we met before?

[Kraden] Ah, greetings, King Volechek. I am Kraden, scholar of Alchemy. During your father's reign, I had the pleasure—

[Volechek] Of course, Master Kraden! I remember now. You once visited my father along with the Warriors of Vale.

[Kraden] Yes, your father was a great help to us in obtaining a Mountain Roc feather.

[Volechek] My father had great respect for skilled warriors. He spoke of your visit often and with great warmth.

[Volechek] Not surprising, given that it gave him the chance to meet perhaps the greatest warriors in the world.

[Kraden] I was greatly saddened to hear of the former king and queen's deaths. I grieve for your loss.

[Volechek] Thank you. It was a terrible blow. ...But where are my manners? I have not greeted your friends.

[Kraden] My apologies. I should have introduced the heirs of the Warriors of Vale.

[Volechek] Is that so? My associates didn't mention that they were of such august lineage...

[Kraden] I'll wager there's much more that they have neglected to tell you.

[Volechek] Indeed? Would you elaborate?

[Kraden] To start with, there is the Eclipse Tower.

[Volechek] So you know Luna Tower's original name. You are indeed well versed in ancient lore.

[Kraden] Enough to know its other epithet, "the hungering place." And to know that activating it was a tragic error.

[Volechek] That is enough!

[Volechek] This country suffered under foreign rule for 10 long years. Morgal has no choice but to arm itself.

[Volechek] Only with the power of the ancients can we subjugate Sana and Bilibin before they return us to slavery.

[Sveta] But why ally yourself with those foul Tuaparang?

[Volechek] No more questions! This audience is over.

[Volechek] Your pirate friend is in the cell across the way. Take him and be gone.

[Sveta] Volechek...

[Kraden] Miss...Sveta, was it?

[Kraden] Your brother is much deceived. That tower is not a weapon...at least not in the sense he believes.

[Sveta] Then what is its purpose?

[Kraden] Unfortunately, a full explanation would take more time than we have. Suffice to say the tower is no weapon.

[Karis] Excuse me, Kraden? If I may ask, what took you so long?

[Kraden] Regrettably, that explanation will also have to wait. Let's rescue Eoleo and be on our way.

[Kraden] I note three Sanans I don't know. Are they part of your group now, Matthew?

[Hou Zan] Not really. We're really just tagging along, sir.

[Ryu Kou] We needed Matthew's help in order to save my sister.

[Kraden] Good. If your goal has already been accomplished, I suggest you flee Belinsk at once.

[Matthew] !!

[Karis] But why, Kraden?

[Tyrell] Yeah, are they suddenly in danger or something?

[Rief] Flee Belinsk...?

[Amiti] Why must they leave?

[Sveta] Please, Kraden, explain.

[Kraden] Activating Luna Tower was a terrible mistake, and one that will likely bring calamity to the world.

[Kraden] This is primarily my instinct speaking, but that tower closely resembles the Elemental Lighthouses.
And when those lighthouses were activated, the consequences were disastrous and far reaching.

[Kraden] You three don't appear to be Adepts. In the disaster I fear, you would likely not survive.

[Ryu Kou] Be that as it may, I've decided to follow Matthew through any danger to repay him for his help.

[Rief] Ryu Kou, we all appreciate your sense of honor, but listen to Kraden. This could be a fatal mistake.

[Sveta] And you've only just reunited with your sister. If you part ways again, imagine the worry she'll feel.

[Tyrell] Our job right now is to deal with this tower thing. Your job is to protect your sister.

[Karis] Ryu Kou, we haven't worked to reunite you with your sister so you can throw your life away now.

[Hou Zan] We are in debt to all of you.

[Hou Zan] I wish it could be otherwise... but farewell.

[Kraden] Now, let's go get Eoleo out of his cell.

[Rief] Kraden, you should know... We were involved in the tower's activation...

[Kraden] Thank you for your honesty, but I believe you bear less blame than you might think.

[Kraden] I've suspected for some time that someone has been manipulating you and your actions.

[Karis] Really? Who?

[Kraden] I refer to that masked man you've encountered several times now.

[Tyrell] Oh, you mean that scum Arcanus!

[Kraden] Arcanus? Is that what he's calling himself now?

[Kraden] Why would he choose that name...?

[Kraden] ...Of course. Now it makes sense. Very droll.

[Kraden] Naturally, if he's going to associate with the Tuaparang...

[Kraden] Ah, forgive me. I was lost in thought, but we really mustn't dawdle any longer.

[Kraden] Eoleo's cell should be located on the other side of the castle. We must go with all haste!

Belinsk, Grave Eclipse (msg_brfn_town_1_b)

Monsters! Here! What can it mean?

The monsters! They...they... Honey?! Come on—we have to get out of here! Why won't you move?!

The remains of some unfortunate soul.

The remains of some unfortunate soul.

If you see a horrible shadow monster, don't panic. Remember, he's more afraid of you than you are of him.

I can't find my children!

I'm no soldier... I didn't have a weapon... What could I possibly have done?

The other members of the band have all left town. I might be the only musician in Belinsk.

More people might have made it if the monsters hadn't appeared so suddenly. No one was prepared...

I heard a scream outside and looked away... It couldn't have been more than a second.
Then I heard a thump, and when I looked back, my darling wife...

Just like with dogs, a stern word seems to make those monsters just lumber on past.
I wonder if it helped that I was standing stock still, too frightened to move?

OK, before all the commotion, they were playing by the statue... Where are they now?

Stay out of the shadows... Stay out of the shadows... Stay out of the shadows...

Not that I'm complaining, but why have the monsters left me alone? Is something protecting me?

I guess everyone in the band is all right. Now, how can I help the townsfolk?

I couldn't even see the monsters... Everything went sort of fuzzy...

I feel better than I have in years! My back doesn't hurt, and I'm more relaxed than I've ever felt!

I regret nothing... Fight bravely, King Volechek...

If this is the end, I think I did OK for myself... I fought beside the king and freed Morgal from the Sanans...
I helped out at that soup kitchen when I could... Polite to my elders... Yeah... Mission accomplished.

They caught me off guard, and now...I have to pay for it.

Looking back on my career as a soldier, I don't think I ever actually fought anyone...
I stood guard, peeled a potato or two, cleaned the latrine... Nope! No actual soldiering. Huh.

Eep!

What do you want, furless? Leave me alone!

The morning light was too bright, so I tried to find some shade... I-I...I don't want to die...

What...happened? I remember there was something moving in the shadows, and then...

[Volechek] You say the creatures are in here?

[Soldier 3] Yes, Your Majesty. We just managed to corral them inside.

[Volechek] Then why is it so quiet?

[Volechek] You are quite certain they are still in here?

[Soldier 2] Y-yes, sire. After the monsters attacked our citizens, we drove them in here.

[Soldier 1] It was a vicious battle, my liege. Many men were wounded.

[Soldier 4] It's almost a miracle that we were able to corner them, but we did it in the end.

[Volechek] I see. Thank you for your heroic efforts, gentlemen. You have done well.

[Volechek] Still, the silence disturbs me...

[Volechek] How can so many creatures not make any noise at all?

[Volechek] Have they somehow fled without our noticing?

[Soldier 3] Highly unlikely, sire. An ant couldn't squeeze through the perimeter we've established.

[Soldier 3] Your Majesty?

[Soldier 1] Sire, please! Don't go in. It's too dangerous!

[Soldier 4] What are you doing?! ...Er, Your Majesty?!

[Volechek] You may stay here if you lack the courage to follow me in.

Ahhhh... Nothing like a nice lie-down to relax you. Probably time to get up now... Why can't I move?

The city is in chaos! What happened?!

Belinsk dock, Grave Eclipse (msg_brfn_town_3_a)

Everyone said that Briggs's ship was essentially a floating wreck, but it seems remarkably seaworthy now.
As talented as they are, I don't think even Port Rago's shipwrights could have done all this...

Kraden seems extremely preoccupied. Something about this ship must fascinate him.

Sveta's worried sick about her brother and won't leave the deck. I wish I could comfort her somehow.

Where is Volechek? He's the mightiest warrior in Morgal— he has to have survived...

Why are we still awake? None of us slept at all last night! You all do what you want, but I'm taking a nap.

We are partly to blame for what has happened here, but I cannot imagine how to correct it.
For the first time in my life, I feel entirely powerless.

Looks like a blizzard's closin' in on us. If we don't move quicklike, the ice on the hull will do us in.

Don't tell nobody, but we didn't repair the ship. We gave up, but the next time we looked, the ship was fixed!
Oh, and it moves without oars or wind now. It's the strangest thing I ever seen...

We don't need to sail or row this thing... Why am I even here?

[Kraden] Excellent! We've made it to the pier.

[Tyrell] Can anyone explain to me what just happened?

[Tyrell] Did Belinsk, the impregnable fortress city, really just get invaded by monsters?

[Amiti] They were everywhere! We could not walk five feet without being attacked by random creatures.

[Eoleo] I can see a little village getting overrun like that, but a city this size? Not a chance.

[Kraden] Apparently there was at least one chance.

[Karis] Kraden, do you know what happened back there?

[Kraden] I have a theory, yes.

[Rief] Leave it to Kraden to develop an explanation while running from hordes of monsters...

[Kraden] Ahem, yes. In any case, I believe the cause was the shadow created by Luna as it eclipsed Sol.

[Sveta] What does that have to do with anything?

[Kraden] First of all, we are all in agreement that the monsters did not appear until dawn, correct?

[Kraden] Once they did manifest, they appeared in the shadows, away from sunlight. Did you notice that?

[Karis] Of course you knew all along. Always one step ahead, eh, Matthew?

[Karis] We all appreciate your bravery, Matthew, but charging into the next shadow you see is a bad idea.

[Kraden] At any rate, I conclude that the monsters appeared from the shadows cast at dawn. But there's more.

[Amiti] Does it have something to do with Luna's influence?

[Kraden] Yes. I theorize that the shadows Luna casts are gathering and concentrating evil energy into them.

[Rief] And what is the relationship between the monsters and this evil energy?

[Kraden] Well, we usually see monsters in the deep, dark places of the world, correct? Places rife with evil energy.

[Kraden] These places strengthen monsters. And this eclipse, unlike natural darkness, radiates the same energy.

[Kraden] Meaning, unfortunately, that not only are monsters out of their usual haunts now, but they are stronger.

[Eoleo] So why do they hate the light?

[Kraden] Light dispels the fell energies that these creatures feed on. It's painful and draining to them.

[Amiti] And Belinsk is now a miasma of these dark and evil energies.

[Sveta] Is my home lost, then?

[Kraden] I'm afraid it may be. Everyone, look on Belinsk and remember it well. We may not see it again.

[Kraden] Sadly, that is not the end of the bad news... If I'm correct, the effect is not restricted to Belinsk.

[Rief] What? How far will it reach?

[Karis] Anywhere under the shadow of the eclipse, presumably...

[Tyrell] Well, that's it then, right? It's the end of the world.

[Kraden] Your father would be disgusted to hear you give up so quickly.

[Tyrell] But... What can we possibly do?

[Kraden] That ship...

[Matthew] ?!

[Karis] Is that Briggs's ship?

[Tyrell] Ship? You mean that floating pile of junk over there?

[Rief] It does appear a bit...aged.

[Amiti] He must have had it repaired.

[Sveta] Whose ship is this?

[Eoleo] It's my dad's boat...I think. It looks a bit different since the repairs.

[Matthew] !!

[Karis] Look! That's Briggs! I'm sure of it!

[Tyrell] That must be his ship, then.

[Rief] Wait, are there monsters on the ship?

[Amiti] It appears so.

[Sveta] Is something... happening?

[Eoleo] Dad!

[Matthew] ...

[Karis] Eoleo?

[Tyrell] What is he doing?

[Rief] Eoleo, don't be a fool!

[Amiti] No...

[Sveta] What is happening?

[Kraden] Eoleo will not survive. You'll have to save him, Matthew.

[Karis] Wait—where's Eoleo?

[Eoleo] Dad!

[Kraden] I never imagined that this would be how Briggs would leave us. Truly, death is unpredictable.

[Karis] Briggs docked his ship here to save us. It's not right that it's going to cost him his life.

[Tyrell] Yeah, the greatest pirate of the high seas should...I dunno, go down with the ship or something.

[Rief] If we hadn't kept him waiting... If we'd gotten here sooner, he might have lived to grow old.

[Amiti] I have painted all pirates with the same broad brush, and now I find I owe my life to one...

[Sveta] This is all my brother's fault. How many lives have been lost now to his terrible mistake?

[Eoleo] How bad is it, Dad?

[Briggs] I had a good run... Lived my life free... Answered to no man...

[Eoleo] What're you talking about? You're too tough to let this be the end.

[Briggs] Tell your mom I'm sorry to leave her alone...and take care of Champa for me...

[Eoleo] Dad! NO!

[Tyrell] Brrr! It just keeps getting colder! How is it this cold in the summer? I can't wait to get back in the cabin.

[Rief] Quit complaining. It's disrespectful.

[Sveta] Even the weather has gone mad...

[Amiti] Can this all be from the effects of the tower?

[Kraden] We are ready to begin.

[Kraden] Eoleo, are you sure this is what you want?

[Eoleo] Dad lived his life on the sea... This is how he'd want it.

[Eoleo] Dad, I-I wish I'd known you'd be gone so soon. Guess I thought I still had time...

[Eoleo] But I swear I'm going to make the ones who did this pay... However long it takes.

[Eoleo] So rest in peace, Dad. I've got it from here.

[Kraden] You are serious about that vow, aren't you, Eoleo?

[Eoleo] Absolutely. I'm sticking with you guys until we can stop all this and get revenge for my old man.

[Eoleo] Besides, someone's got to pilot this ship for you.

[Eoleo] So if that's all the talk for now, I'll get the ship ready to sail.

[Eoleo] We're ready to go. Time to push off?

[Eoleo] Need more time to get things square? Fine. I'll be here. Just let me know when we can ship out.

[Eoleo] Good. Go find yourself a seat, and we'll set sail.

[Voice] ROOOOWWWR!

[Sveta] Volechek...

[Sveta] That howl came from near the tower! It was Volechek, I'm certain.

[Karis] Sveta...

[Sveta] Volechek!

[Sveta] VOLECHEK!

[Sveta] Volechek...

[Karis] Sveta, there's nothing you can do for him now. Come inside. It's cold out here...

[Volechek] Sveta... Dear sister...

[Sveta] Volechek!

[Volechek] Take this. I stole it from Blados— hopefully you can use it as a weapon against the Tuaparang.

[Sveta] Where are you going? You can't stay in Belinsk!

[Sveta] ...Good-bye, Volechek.

We can't go back now. Turning back would endanger everyone. ...I'm sorry.

Belinsk Opera House 2 (msg_brfn_opr_2)

I thought I'd die on some legendary battlefield, not a gaudy opera house...

I wish I had two more lives to give for my country and King Volechek!

Where did that girl go? I hope she made it out...

Sailing ship after Belinsk (msg_mrgr_sea_ship)

[Tyrell] *yaaaawn* So, I guess we made it?

[Tyrell] Between the monsters and the storm, I thought we'd had it.

[Rief] We appear to be basically safe and sound.

[Amiti] I confess I was hoping to wake up in the palace of Ayuthay... I suppose my old life was the dream, though.

[Eoleo] Yeah, guess so. Kind of a rude wake-up call, eh?

[Kraden] Ah, excellent. You are all awake at last.

[Karis] Sorry to interrupt, everyone, but we can't just lie around anymore. Get up!

[Matthew] !!!

[Tyrell] Oof. So stiff...

[Rief] Ow...

[Amiti] Are you certain we are ready?

[Eoleo] Maybe not...but what else are we gonna do?

[Sveta] Good morning, everyone.

[Matthew] ...!

[Tyrell] Oh, hey, Sveta.

[Karis] I'm glad to see you're all right, Sveta.

[Amiti] You look remarkably well, Sveta.

[Eoleo] All right? You look like nothing happened!

[Eoleo] And hey—did you say it's time to get up? Do we know something?

[Rief] Ah, is that the item that King Volechek threw to Sveta?

[Amiti] He made it sound extremely important.

[Tyrell] So what's the deal with it?

[Kraden] At this point...we are still unsure what it is.

[Matthew] ??

[Tyrell] Wait a minute! I thought you knew everything, Kraden!

[Rief] If Kraden can't identify it...

[Amiti] I cannot believe it.

[Eoleo] You're kidding, right?

[Karis] Hey—we only have the item itself to work with! It's not a lot to go on, you know!

[Karis] Thanks for understanding, Matthew. It's nice to have a calm center of the storm.

[Karis] Anyone who thinks it's a scholar's job to know absolutely everything is clearly thinking with their hearts.

[Karis] I know everyone's upset at how little we know, but please just bear with us. OK, Matthew?

[Karis] I'm sure Kraden appreciates your boundless confidence in his abilities...

[Kraden] The item is obviously ancient and presumably valuable. But these facts don't explain anything.

[Kraden] We also know that Volechek risked his life to keep it out of our enemies' hands.

[Kraden] Volechek also described it as a "weapon," though it's still unclear what he meant.

[Rief] So what do we do now?

[Kraden] What have you learned while we were apart, Rief?

[Rief] What have I learned...?

[Kraden] Karis tells me that you've had quite the journey around the world before arriving in Belinsk.

[Kraden] You've restarted Alchemy Machines and traversed Craggy Peak. I couldn't have done those things.

[Kraden] Your accomplishments speak volumes of your determination and skill, as well as teamwork.

[Rief] Yes, I suppose you're right...

[Kraden] Ultimately, I study only the long past, which does nothing to answer questions on its own.

[Kraden] So what will answer our questions? Your travels have granted you experience, the true knowledge.

[Karis] You're saying we have to figure out what to do ourselves and can't wait for you to tell us.

[Kraden] More or less. Though I certainly won't abandon you. Let's look for answers together.

[Tyrell] Well, you know my vote is always for doing stuff, not sitting around talking about it.

[Kraden] And that may actually be our wisest course.

[Tyrell] Really?!

[Kraden] Indeed. Sometimes the surest path to knowledge is simply to start moving.

[Kraden] I see that Matthew agrees with this approach. Excellent!

[Kraden] I know you're upset that I don't have all the answers, but all we can do is keep moving.

[Kraden] Don't worry, Matthew. Most of the great discoveries began with less to go on than we have!

[Kraden] That's the spirit! We will certainly prevail with such enthusiasm on our side!

[Amiti] So are we done with this discussion?

[Kraden] Almost. I did want to bring up that the tower's activation seemed to have been somehow preset eons ago.

[Sveta] That's what that Ward machine in the tower said too.

[Karis] Somehow the ancients knew we were coming, like a prophecy.

[Amiti] That masked man claimed this was only the beginning.

[Rief] Yeah, Arcanus also said we'd meet again, and soon.

[Arcanus' voice] "But know this—opening the seal on this dread machine was only the beginning."

[Arcanus' voice] "I look forward to our next meeting. Until then, farewell."

[Karis] That's what he said.

[Kraden] Hmm...I suspected as much.

[Kraden] Up until now, we have done exactly as our enemies have expected.

[Eoleo] Yeah, we've been a step behind the whole way...even Dad. I'm gonna make them pay for that, though.

[Kraden] I think it's fair to say you'll have your chance, Eoleo.

[Kraden] You've led well to this point, Matthew, so I see no reason to change that arrangement.

[Tyrell] Yeah, Matthew's gotten the job done so far!

[Rief] I'll keep following you.

[Amiti] I would follow no other.

[Eoleo] You've got a good head on your shoulders, kid.

[Kraden] If we're all agreed, let's go. And while I defer to your leadership, Matthew, I have one suggestion:

[Kraden] we will learn most about the eclipse if we can find some land that overlaps its edge and see it from the outside.
We should also talk to local leaders. From kings to village chieftains, any might know something useful.

[Sveta] You should also know, Matthew, that my Spirit Sense can look into people's hearts.

[Sveta] You may find it useful, so don't hesitate to ask me to use it.
