Golden Sun: Dark Dawn/Side Scripts/Carver's Camp

From Golden Sun Universe

These pages compile almost all incidental NPC dialogue, both spoken and accessed with Spirit Sense, that exist separately from the "main cutscenes" in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. This can be used as a reference to more easily look up all optional gossip at each settlement in the game without painstakingly talking to each NPC and casting the Spirit Sense Psynergy on them. Some technically optional dialogue the player is very likely to read is omitted. All text in italics is conveyed through Spirit Sense.

Carver's Camp

Father of son across bridge (first interaction)
I heard that a Wind Adept was coming this way with her friends. Is that you?
[Yes] I thought so! An old man who was waiting at the bridge said you'd be coming this way.
He was terribly sorry that he could do nothing to help.
But he insisted my son would be safe until you could get here with your Psynergy. Please, help!
[No] No? There was an old man waiting here for them.
He was sorry that he could do nothing to help.
But he did promise that a Wind Adept would soon arrive who could rescue him!
Father of son across bridge (subsequent interactions)
My son...! My poor son!
We'd just come from Bilibin to visit the Goma Highlands when THIS happened!
Please, can you do anything to save him?
Left assistant, before talking to Carver
I thought we made that bridge pretty strong, but that Psynergy Vortex tore it apart!
Right assistant, before talking to Carver
What are we going to do?! We can't fix the bridge! It's a total disaster!
Left assistant, after Carver departs
We lumberjacks can cross these kinds of chasms by just chopping down a tree! Timmmm...BER!
But you can't make yourselves a bridge! Not with those whittling tools you call weapons. You'll have to find a detour!
Right assistant, after Carver departs
Want to hear about the alternate way past the Goma range again?
[Yes] Far below the Konpa ruins is a sprawling series of caves.
They cut under the Goma Mountains and then branch into both the north and south of Angara.
But the caves are supposed to be hard to reach from the ruins. And even harder to survive.
[No] Oh no? Hmm, I hope you find your way past the Goma Mountains somehow.
vortexes can make travel nearly impossible!
Boy outside northwest residence
Djinn are pure Psynergy. So I bet they get gulped down by Psynergy Vortexes.
My dad said he saw lots of Djinn while he was working in the mountains. But I bet they all got sucked in!
Woman downstairs in northwest residence
We can't travel through the mountains to Bilibin now, but I didn't like it there anyway!
Woman upstairs in northwest residence
Southeast of our camp are the mysterious Konpa ruins.
They were uncovered by the severe quakes and storms caused by the Golden Sun.
Though the ruins seem mostly carved from rock, it's said they were once coated in pure gold!

The Wonder of Wind Blossoms: These flowers flutter up into the air when a strong gust comes along.
While whirling, they stay aloft even if people hop on them. Wind Adepts often take advantage of this!
Inspect second-floor bookcase in northwest residence
The Goma Gondolas: These are contraptions that have been excavated from the Goma Mountains in recent years.
When stoked with fire, the gondolas would move along ropes, so the woodsmen have taken full advantage of them!
Man in cyan near broken bridge
The new country of Bilibin might have had a chance of being a decent place...
if those horrible McCoy people weren't governing it.
Young man in green in center of towl
The ancients made the gondolas and used them to travel all over the place, or so they say.
We're glad to have them, but we have no idea how to repair any that get broken!

Finding Djinn: These essential creatures are usually in hard-to-reach places off the beaten path.
So explore caves thoroughly and travel down wayward paths to find all the Djinn you can!
Inspect oven in shop
It's a log cake that's a big specialty here in the village! Best not to eat any though—someone might miss it!

The Once-Glittering Konpa Ruins: These stone ruins are thought to have once been a spectacular temple covered in gold.
Its ancient nature is still under study, but scholars believe that its gold was the ultimate symbol of Alchemy itself.
Man in left residence
I've just about had it! The only thing you can do these days is hide away from disasters!
Did we survive the coming of the Golden Sun only to see things like THAT appear outside?!
Old woman in left residence
Hide while you still can! That Psynergy Vortex could suck us all up!
Woman in purple at south end
With the bridge out, no one can get to the valley that crosses the Goma Mountains.
But I've heard that Adepts can take another path that goes under the mountains. How frightening!
Assistant near southeast ladder
There's a powerful rapids at the bottom of this chasm. Don't fall in, or you'll be drawn under!
