Wyvern enemy line
The Wyvern Chick, Pteranodon, and Winged Lizard are enemies that are randomly battled in Golden Sun: The Lost Age, while the Wyvern and Red Wyvern are enemies that are randomly battled in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Despite none of the variants sharing names between games, their relation is self-evident from their shared appearance as large, flying winged reptiles with bird-like talons, and their similar resistances and command lists. In each game's case, they are palette swaps of each other that have differing levels of power and defense and are fought in different locations in the game.
Despite including a variant also named "Wyvern" in The Lost Age, the Sky Dragon enemy line appears to have no relation.
In Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Wyvern Chick
A Wyvern Chick (ワイバーンキッズ Wyvern Kid) is a yellow level 16 variant with a cyan underbody and wings, and a blue head and talons. Wyvern Chicks are first battled on Gondowan Cliffs, and subsequently throughout the overworld region of Gondowan between Gondowan Cliffs and Kibombo (but not throughout Kibombo Mountains along the way).
The Wyvern Chick is roughly at the same general level of strength and defense as the Wild Gorilla in Gondowan Cliffs. Since the Wild Gorilla doesn't appear in the subsequent area of overworld, but the Wyvern Chick does, the Wyvern Chick happens to be about the strongest monster in that area, equal to the likes of Wolfkin Cub.
A Wyvern Chick is especially likely to be affected by Resistance-lowering effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Wyvern Chick | 124 | 0 | 128 | 36 | 76 | 6 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||

Pteranodon
A Pteranodon (プテラノドン) is a cyan level 31 variant with a light-green underbody and wings, and a red head and talons. Pteranodons are among the common monsters fought on land throughout the entire Great Western Sea portion of the world, and also within Shaman Village Cave and the small area in Trial Road accessible through the Hover Psynergy.
Of the roughly equal monsters fought on land in the western portion of the world map, the Pteranodon has the highest HP and Defense. Its area-of-effect abilities are rather low-powered, however. It is entirely outperformed by the Wild Gryphon in the small Shaman Village Cave. In the limited area in the Trial Road, its HP and area-of-effect abilities are outperformed by the sluggish and feeble Nightmare.
A Pteranodon is especially likely to be affected by Resistance-lowering effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Pteranodon | 242 | 0 | 291 | 100 | 166 | 8 |

110 Power Level 2 |

Winged Lizard
A Winged Lizard (ウイングリザード) is a violet level 37 variant with a tan underbody and wings, and a light green head and talons. Winged Lizards are only fought in the optional Yampi Desert Cave dungeon.
Among the monsters in this optional end-game area, the Winged Lizard has the lowest defenses, and its abilities are rather weak compared to other monsters' (its version of Fire Breath is literally half as powerful as the version of Fire Breath used by the Fire Dragon randomly fought throughout the same area), which is spiritually compensated by it having the highest agility rating of the monsters. Its rare drop, Dragon Skin, can be desirable for forging moderately strong late-game equipment, particularly Dragon Boots, so it is often either farmed or made the subject of Random Number Generator abuse.
A Winged Lizard is especially likely to be affected by Resistance-lowering effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Winged Lizard | 337 | 0 | 452 | 160 | 202 | 9 |

A Red Wyvern (レッドワイバーン) is a red level 48 variant with a light grey underbody. They are fought in Crossbone Isle.
This post-game enemy can rarely drop the unique Lachesis' Rule, one of the strongest weapons.
A Red Wyvern is especially likely to be affected by Resistance-lowering effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Red Wyvern | 685 | 0 | 576 | 197 | 275 | 9 |
