Mercury Djinni enemy line (Dark Dawn)
In each game in the Golden Sun series, a portion of the available Djinn that can be collected must be engaged and defeated in a battle before it is added to the inventory. Each Djinni counts as its own separate enemy that has different abilities from all the rest. While various battled Djinn decide to fight you once you interact with them in an environment, there are also Djinn that only appear by being randomly encountered in specific areas of the overworld that otherwise appear to be featureless scenery.
This is a listing of all Mercury Djinn throughout Golden Sun: Dark Dawn that need to be battled. Also see Mercury Djinni enemy line (GBA).
In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Five Mercury Djinn must be defeated in battle before they are added to the Djinn collection.
Surge
Surge is found deep inside the Barai Temple dungeon in Ayuthay. Late in the dungeon, you will pass by it on a small, elevated platform above a pond. You can get it right away by casting the Fireball Psynergy on it so that it jumps down into the pond below. Then, cast the Arid Heat Psynergy on the water-filled bowl to empty the pond and get to Surge, and it must be battled to be obtained. Alternatively, you can skip past this for now and reach the end of the dungeon, where you obtain the Insight Glass in a cutscene and use that to get back. After this sequence, when you re-enter the room an extra cutscene with Amiti will prompt you to use the Insight Psynergy while the Djinni is on the screen, and it will show you how you need to cast Fireball on it. Get Surge at this point.

Serac
Serac is fought inside Harapa Ruins when it is explored late in the exploration of the Ei-Jei region, at the horizontally long and narrow B4 level. It can only be reached by dropping from above. As part of what the player would need to do in order to reach the ultimate goal of the ruins, the player would have to slide into the central sliding ice maze in B3 from the ice in the room to the right, and then slide up, right, down, left, up, and left. At this spot in the northwest portion of the sliding ice maze, one would either slide up, right, and up to make it to the Ice Queen boss encounter, or slide down, right, and down to end up right behind Serac on B4. Fight it and earn it, then return upstairs and follow the above steps again to get to the boss.

Coral
Coral is located in Port Rago, in the interior portion called Port Rago Canal. When you go to Port Rago once Briggs has arrived at the closed-off Port Rago Docks building, and you climb into and go through Port Rago Canal to get inside the Docks, cast Grip on the movable set of stairs and use it to get to the ground level above the ship. Go to the bowl of water to the right of the ship, cast Arid Heat on it to lower the water level, and go through the newly opened black doorway nearby and fight and collect Coral. Being located in Port Rago means Coral can be permanently missed once the final gate at the bottom of Belinsk Ruins is passed through later.

Geyser
Geyser is located in the small Snowdrift Shrine dungeon that is one of the dungeons you need to explore late in the game in order to collect the Umbra Gear. When you enter the main lower exterior screen and climb up the right ladder to the main upper exterior screen, you are above a giant slide that you would need to slide down at several different places in order to reach all of the location's secrets. Geyser is at the top of the center of the slide, and when you approach it, it will slide down to a lone platform way down below. Your objective is to slide down after it and steer yourself so that you collide into it from behind, and a little reflex might be needed. When successfully crashed into, Geyser drops into the screen below, so hop off and climb down the nearby ladders to where Geyser is. Fight it to obtain it. After this, when you climb back up to use the giant slide again, know that there is no further use for the particular slide entrance that Geyser used. The same goes for the slide entrance to the right of that.
