Slime enemy line
The Slime, Ooze, and Slime Beast are enemies that are randomly battled throughout each game in the Golden Sun series. These monsters resemble colorful, amorphous objects with cartoonish eyes, and are palette swaps of each other that have differing levels of power and defense and are fought in different locations in the games.
In Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Slime (Sol Sanctum)
This earlier version of the Slime (フニフニ Funifuni) is a green level 2 variant. This Slime is battled in the prologue sequence to Golden Sun, in Sol Sanctum while Jenna is in the party.
Like the other enemies fought in Sol Sanctum, it should be extremely easy to deal with.
This version of the Slime is especially likely to be affected by Stun- and Sleep-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Slime | 22 | 0 | 22 | 6 | 8 | 1 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
127 (Lv 6) 48 (Lv 2) 48 (Lv 2) 7 (Lv 0) | 2 | 2 | Herb | 1/32 |
This version of the Slime uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:
Command | Chance to use |
Elem. Stats used with * |

---|---|---|---|
Attack | 6/8 (75%) |
125 Power | Standard physical attack, though on this enemy it is aligned with the Mercury element. |
Flee | 2/8 (25%) |
-- | Standard Flee command that has a chance to remove the user from the battle without giving the party EXP and Coin rewards. |
Slime (Overworld)
The second version of Slime (フニフニ Funifuni) is a green level 3 variant. This Slime is battled in the overworld map, the upper-left region of Angara that encompasses Vale, Vault, Lunpa, and Goma Cave.
This version of Slime should prove just as easy as the rest of the monsters fought in that area of the overworld map that is not named Zombie.
This version of the Slime is especially likely to be affected by Stun- and Sleep-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Slime | 32 | 0 | 34 | 6 | 10 | 1 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
127 (Lv 6) 48 (Lv 2) 48 (Lv 2) 7 (Lv 0) | 4 | 4 | Herb | 1/16 |
This version of the Slime uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:

Attack | 6/8 (75%) |
125 Power | Standard physical attack, though on this enemy it is aligned with the Mercury element. |
Bone Chiller | 2/8 (25%) |
125 Power | Enemy ability that lobs a blue mound of slimy water onto a single Adept's position. Deals a Mercury-aligned attack with 7 base damage. |
Ooze
An Ooze (プニプニ Punipuni) is a blue variant that is level 9 in Golden Sun and level 15 in The Lost Age. In Golden Sun, Oozes are battled in the overworld map in the snowy area around Imil and the area in front of Fuchin Temple, as well as inside Bilibin Cave, Mercury Lighthouse, and Fuchin Falls Cave. In The Lost Age, Oozes can be battled in Alhafran Cave.
From when it is first fought, the Ooze is already close to being the least durable of the monsters it is fought alongside, and its relatively good agility does not do much to make it more than a slight damager and EXP/Coin giver. Of course, it gets much easier the later it is fought. In the second game, it is even weaker among the monsters fought alongside it in Alhafra Cave.
An Ooze is especially likely to be affected by Stun- and Sleep-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Ooze | 72 | 0 | 72 | 19 | 30 | 1 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
127 (Lv 6) 48 (Lv 2) 48 (Lv 2) 7 (Lv 0) | 26 | 40 | Herb | 1/16 |
An Ooze uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:
Command | Chance to use |

Sticky Goo | 2/8 (25%) |
125 Power Level 6 |
Enemy ability that lobs a light brown mound of slimy water onto a single Adept's position. Deals a Mercury-aligned attack with 13 base damage, and it has a chance to temporarily lower the target's Defense by 12.5%. |
Speed Surge | 1/8 (12.5%) |
-- | Enemy ability where the battle text displays "Ooze attempts to divide!", and there is a chance that a new Ooze individual will join the battle on the enemy side. |
Slime Beast
A Slime Beast (ブニブニ Bunibuni) is a red level 13 variant. In Golden Sun, Slime Beasts are battled in the second and third floors of Altin Peak.
The Slime Beast is generally the easiest monster to take out whenever it appears in battle in Altin Peak. Its multiplication ability does little to actually damage your party, and it is not all that likely to poison your Adepts, but even if it does, Poison is a generally easy status condition to remove.
A Slime Beast is especially likely to be affected by Stun- and Sleep-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Slime Beast | 99 | 0 | 134 | 27 | 54 | 2 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
127 (Lv 6) 48 (Lv 2) 48 (Lv 2) 7 (Lv 0) | 51 | 77 | Herb | 1/16 |

In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Slime
A Slime (フニフニ Funifuni) is a light blue level 1 variant. It is the very first enemy fought in the game, found in Goma Plateau and the Tanglewood.

A Slime is especially likely to be affected by Stun- and Sleep-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
