Angle Worm enemy line
The Angle Worm, Fire Worm, and Chimera Worm are enemies that are randomly battled in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. These monsters, resembling moderately-sized armored worms holding a sword in each of their four humanlike arms, are palette swaps of each other that have differing levels of power and defense and are fought in different locations in the game.
In Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Angle Worm
An Angle Worm (アングルウォーム) is a level 6 variant with blue skin, pink armor, and a light green underbelly. It is first fought throughout the dungeon Kandorean Temple and subsequently fought in Shrine of the Sea God and Dehkan Plateau.
In where it is nominally first fought, Angle Worms have the highest Attack stats of the random monsters in the dungeon, but they should still only have the minimal threat level of an enemy from the game's first dungeon.
An Angle Worm is especially likely to be affected by Stun-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Angle Worm | 37 | 0 | 40 | 9 | 14 | 1 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
48 (Lv 1) 48 (Lv 0) 48 (Lv 0) 25 (Lv 0) | 12 | 10 | Elixir | 1/32 |
An Angle Worm uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:
Command | Chance to use |
Elem. Stats used with * |
Description |
---|---|---|---|
Attack | 6/8 (75%) |
-- | Standard physical attack. |
Angle Spike | 2/8 (25%) |
90 Power | Enemy ability where the user shoots out a red energy spike at a target party member that explodes on contact, dealing a Mars-aligned standard physical attack with 9 damage points added to the end result. |
Fire Worm
A Fire Worm (ファイアウォーム) is a level 25 variant with violet skin, green armor, and a blue underbelly. It is first fought in Gaia Rock, and subsequently fought in Izumo Ruins.
The Fire Worm is not the most threatening of the random monsters in where it can be fought, though it is relatively fast. Most of the time, a single standard attack, regardless of unleash effects, will defeat it.
A Fire Worm is especially likely to be affected by Stun-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Fire Worm | 97 | 0 | 221 | 49 | 94 | 4 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
48 (Lv 1) 48 (Lv 0) 48 (Lv 0) 25 (Lv 0) | 158 | 113 | Oil Drop | 1/32 |
A Fire Worm uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:
Command | Chance to use |

---|---|---|---|
Attack | 5/8 (62.5%) |
-- | Standard physical attack. |
Fire Breath | 2/8 (25%) |

Angle Spike | 1/8 (12.5%) |
90 Power | Enemy ability where the user shoots out a red energy spike at a target party member that explodes on contact, dealing a Mars-aligned standard physical attack with 9 damage points added to the end result. |
Chimera Worm
A Chimera Worm (キメラウォーム) is a level 38 variant with orange skin, purple armor, and a turquoise underbelly. It appears throughout the linear hallways of the later "hidden" portion of the optional Islet Cave.
Chimera Worms are very much the "easy" monsters in the optional Islet Cave dungeon, being far easier to kill and far less threatening than Cruel Dragons, Druj, and Wonder Birds (notice it has little more than half the health of a Wonder Bird, and a third of of the Cruel Dragon's or Druj's health). Its droppable item, however, is the extremely practical and desirable Water of Life, meaning it would not be a bad idea to repeatedly battle it for amassing a stockpile of this item while training with the Wonder Birds in the area.
A Chimera Worm is especially likely to be affected by Stun-inducing effects. Its statistics are as follows:
Name | HP | PP | Attack | Defense | Agility | Luck |
Chimera Worm | 251 | 22 | 452 | 133 | 152 | 5 |
Elemental Resistances and Levels | Exp | Coins | Item Dropped | Drop Rate | ||
48 (Lv 1) 48 (Lv 0) 48 (Lv 0) 25 (Lv 0) | 359 | 179 | Water of Life | 1/32 |
A Chimera Worm uses the following battle commands with low intelligence:
