The Bone Armlet (ほれのうでわ, Hore no udewa?, lit. Bone Bracelet) is a Bracelet-class hand armor found in Golden Sun: The Lost Age and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

Basic Description by Game[edit]

In all appearances, the Bone Armlet increases the wearer's base Defense by 30 points. In addition, it can be Used as an item during battle by an Adept who is able to equip it (but it does not necessarily have to be actually equipped) to emulate the Haunt Psynergy to attempt to inflict the Haunt status condition on up to three enemies. It can be bought for 3000 coins and sold for 2250 coins. If sold while broken, its resale value drops to 1500 coins; however, it can be repaired for 750 coins.

In The Lost Age, it is found in a treasure chest in the Gabomba Statue, and can be equipped by Jenna and Sheba. It can also be equipped on Ivan and Mia after they join the player's party. In Dark Dawn, it is found in a treasure chest in the Harapa Ruins, and can be equipped by Karis, Rief, Amiti, and Himi.

Analysis[edit]

In The Lost Age, the Bone Armlet is guaranteed to be a large defensive upgrade to whichever caster Adept you give it to, since the strongest hand equipment either of them could be wearing at the time are Armlets. It will remain on the party for a long while, possibly up until Lemuria. And this is only considering it as a purely defensive item (where it is identical to a Silver Armlet were it not for its Use effect), though players rarely try to use Haunting effects in general like what the Bone Armlet offers as a bonus.

In Dark Dawn, as in The Lost Age, the Bone Armlet is valued more for its large defensive bonus compared to the area in which it is found, as opposed to it Use effect. While any Adept can benefit from the Bone Armlet, the player may choose to equip it on the Adept with the lowest Defense. Bracelets of equal Defensive Power will not be available until Port Rago, so the Bone Armlet will be useful for an extended period of time.
