The Rainbow Ring (レインボーリング, Rainbow Ring?) is a Ring-class item coded into Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
In Golden Sun: The Lost Age
The ring is not acquirable by any means within the game; it can only be accessed through a hacking device such as an Action Replay. Visually, the Rainbow Ring resembles a ring with a very colorful jewel on top, glowing blue at the left, green at the center, and red at the right. In addition, two star sparkles are shown above the ring icon.
The Rainbow Ring, as with most other rings in The Lost Age, provides no effect when equipped, and is instead Used as an item in battle (it does not need to be equipped to be used in this manner) to emulate the Delude Psynergy, which attempts to inflict up to three enemies with Delusion. Although it cannot be acquired normally, the Rainbow Ring has been programmed with a buy value of 900 coins and a sell value of 675 coins. If broken, its sell value is 450 and its repair value is 225.
The Rainbow Ring, usable by all party members, would have been vaguely valuable for its ability to potential lower the standard accuracy of multiple enemies. It is unknown why it was not included in the actual game despite being designed and coded. Incidentally, this is not the only Ring that has been coded into The Lost Age without actually being featured; the other two such Rings are the Aroma Ring and the Soul Ring. It is possible that they were meant to be prizes in the slot machines in The Lost Age, since there are exactly three such unimplemented Rings, not to mention similar unused Shirts and Boots. However, the slot machines in The Lost Age instead used the same prizes seen in the previous game, suggesting that Camelot eventually decided to recycle the old prizes rather than introduce new ones.
