From Golden Sun Universe

New Year, January 2013

Here we are, two years later (wow) So, everyone, what article do you think is worthy of being featured in January? :D ~ dkpat (talk) 22:08, 21 December 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

I'd suggest psynergy, an elemental physical attack since we've only done psynergy once for 2012. I was hoping Astral Blast and Thunder Mine. We've already done a Venus Ragnarok and Odyssey, mars Fume Psynergy series, and mercury Douse Psynergy series. No jupiter so I suggested one :) Also I don't see anyone else offering up ideas. Chinkycandie (talk) 03:56, 30 December 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
Oh yeah, when the new year comes, we can archive the 2012 discussions :P Chinkycandie (talk) 03:58, 30 December 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
That sounds like a pretty good choice. It seems like an article that is in great condition to me. ~ dkpat (talk) 11:07, 30 December 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

Feb 2013

Hello everyone! Time for the next round to start (...honestly, this almost feels like a chore now, much to my dismay) ~ dkpat (talk) 21:20, 22 January 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]

Well, its been 7 months since we've done a djinn. We haven't done a Mars one yet. Forge, Fever, Tinder, and Fugue look like good candidates. It has been 6 months since we did a character. We've done a playable, a villain, a boss/character, and a supportive character (no point in doing an unseen character). Still quite recent since a town, enemy line, dungeon, and a weapon. I think I'd stick to a Mars Djinn. Chinkycandie (talk) 01:44, 23 January 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
From those Mars djinn... I personally have a fondness for Fugue. It is the "final" mars djinn, has an unusual name choice and origin, and is an alright actual djinni. ~ dkpat (talk) 15:08, 24 January 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
Fugue it is then :D Chinkycandie (talk) 01:18, 25 January 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]

March 2013

Starting section. Zoom with the ideas! (I'll come up with some when I'm not in class.) ~ dkpat (talk) 08:29, 19 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]

Well now, its been 7 months since a character. So more or less, I think we can choose one from that category. Maybe another playable character since we've done Isaac as the first (and only) one and did two more non-playable (Alex and Briggs and one non-playable/boss (Tret). If a character is the way to go, I'd say either Felix or Piers. Piers' page is pretty much complete, thanks to Erik. Chinkycandie (talk) 18:59, 24 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
I've got nothing against another character, but I'd like to do someone introduced in Dark Dawn (assuming any of them are good enough). Amiti looks pretty good, but I'm open to other suggestions. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 10:33, 25 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
Amiti's page looks good but I think the biography section should have a bit more text. Doesn't looks like the standard of GS and TLA characters. That's all I have to say about DD characters. Chinkycandie (talk) 21:07, 25 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
I think the obvious reason that it isn't like GBA characters is because he isn't in as many games. another reason could be due to the article not having as many screenshots breaking it up like the others do. I do like Amiti, but if not him then certainly Piers, for such a well written article and a nice tie in to all games. ~ dkpat (talk) 22:08, 25 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
I found it really easy to write out Amiti's statistical comparison, appearance, personality, and as a playable character. But the biography was more difficult. Its limiting. Chinkycandie (talk) 17:28, 26 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
So, do we have a consensus for tomorrow's new article? ~ dkpat (talk) 15:15, 28 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
I'd still prefer Amiti, but I think I'm okay with Piers. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 16:51, 28 February 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
Piers is good with me. Marandahir (talk) 21:40, 1 March 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]

April

I think we got a cycle going now :) The next in the cycle is a weapon. We've done a staff, long sword, and light blade. So maybe an axe or mace? After the weapon is dungeon. Thanatos Mace looks good. From the axes, Themis' Axe seems to be best one. If Giant Axe had one more photo of its second unleash, we use that one. I can't do it since I don't use the emulator, but the actual DS to play. Chinkycandie (talk) 18:26, 22 March 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

At this point in time, I'm cool with both Thanatos and Themis. Between the two, however, I think I'm leaning more towards Themis' Axe, simply because it's an early-game weapon. All the weapons we've done so far are mid-to-late game weapons, as are Thanatos and the Giant Axe. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 21:06, 22 March 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I agree on the Themis' Axe :) Chinkycandie (talk) 03:17, 24 March 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
The People have spoken then. ~ dkpat (talk) 12:46, 24 March 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Onward to May 2013

So. Here's to getting this conversation started. ~ dkpat (talk) 16:18, 21 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Let's see, what have we not done in a while... An enemy or location, perhaps? Or can anyone think of anything unconventional, like the time we did a class series? The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 22:08, 21 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I like the idea of a class series but one with a unique psynergy series. I was thinking the Miko class series since the Roaring Dragon Psynergy series is unique there or Weapon Grace. Single psynergy unique to the class. Just a thought :) Chinkycandie (talk) 05:52, 23 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I don't think the Miko class is a good article though. It isn't very well organized, and It is somewhat short. Edit: how about a summon, like Eclipse (summon)? ~ dkpat (talk) 11:15, 25 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
A summon sounds good, but I'd rather have one with some kind of cultural/mythological roots. Eclipse, while powerful, is a bit generic and dull. (Of course, the quality of the article is the main concern, but I don't have time to look for a good alternative at the moment.) The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 12:26, 25 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Looking through the summons, I like Atalanta and Ramses. Its got the GBA version, the DS version of the summon, the still in the gallery, and both the GBA and DS summon in the gallery. They both also have the cultural allusions. All the other summons do not have that feature yet. Chinkycandie (talk) 21:05, 25 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'd rather Atalanta (but that is purely my personal preference of Jupiter and Greek) ~ dkpat (talk) 08:31, 29 April 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

June 2013

I nominate the Masamune for the June 2013 article. It is fairly well-written, and it has the information it needs. I nominate it for the featured article in June 2013. --Secreteer (talk) 05:47, 20 May 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

We've already used a weapon back in March. We're trying to keep to a cycle. The next in the cycle is a location or enemy line. When we get back to weapons then we will consider Masamune. Chinkycandie (talk) 20:02, 21 May 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I recommend Anemos Inner Sanctum, it is an interesting dungeon location because it is the final dungeon of The Lost age, and it contains the super summon of the games. The article itself appears to be in good shape as well. ~ dkpat (talk) 13:47, 24 May 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Anemos Inner Sanctum looks good :) Chinkycandie (talk) 21:11, 24 May 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I see no objections to AIS. Also, I'd like to say that we don't have to maintain our current cycle. It would be nice to, sure, but it's not carved in stone or anything. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 16:07, 26 May 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

July 2013

Ok, I'm a blank slate on this one. Anyone want to do something "hot"? -shrug- since it's a Summer month, ~ dkpat (talk) 13:59, 23 June 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

You almost make it sound like you're suggesting Jenna... Or maybe Menardi? Or Karst? ;) Erik the Appreciator (talk) 16:13, 23 June 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'd say something Mars-related at the least. --Sippyjuice (talk) 18:37, 23 June 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
We haven't done a Psynergy in a while, so I'd like to propose three candidates: Heat Wave and Liquefier, Arid Heat Psynergy series, and Aura Psynergy series. All of our past Psynergy articles were offensive, so I'd recommend Aura. Heat Wave and Liquefier are actually my last choice, since Attack-dependent Psynergies are rarer than base damage Psynergies and our Featured Articles aren't representing this ratio. Maybe these aren't the best reasons, but I do feel it's worth keeping in mind. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 23:53, 23 June 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I really like the idea of using the Aura psynergy line. It's nice to have a change of Healing psynergy instead of purely attack. Plus, it isn't the Wish line, the stereotypical healing psynergy of the games. ~ dkpat (talk) 14:44, 27 June 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

August!

Wow, already back to August. So what are we thinking this time guys (and girls)? ~ dkpat (talk) 11:40, 23 July 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Since in July we did a Psynergy, maybe get back to Djinn? We've done one for all four now. So go back maybe starting at Mercury? At the same time, we haven't done a boss/monster line for a while (November 2012). In the whole of 2012, we've only featured one. But after looking at them, their stat tables are messed up. I was going to suggest Saturos/Menardi but just their stat tables aren't any good. Karst looks good, but she doesn't have the arsenal template, neither does Saturos. I don't know. The featured article is getting harder and harder to think about. Chinkycandie (talk) 23:36, 24 July 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'm okay with Djinn, but we don't have to do a Mercury Djinni just because it's been longest since then. How about Chasm? The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 13:17, 29 July 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Chasm looks acceptable.
Chasm it is then :) ~ dkpat (talk) 12:49, 31 July 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

September 2013

Time to start conversations (a little past due actually) ~ dkpat (talk) 13:17, 25 August 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

As far as I can see, we haven't done a town and boss/enemy line for a long time. Last time we did a town was December. We haven't done boss since August 2012. Enemy Line we haven't done since November. For a Boss, I suggest Kraken. For an enemy, I'd suggest Living Statue enemy line. And for a town, I'd suggest Daila. Chinkycandie (talk) 07:16, 27 August 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I think I'm good with Kraken. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 12:08, 28 August 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

October

It's time for the spooky month of the year! ~ dkpat (talk) 19:40, 21 September 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

It seems like even though I'm here once a month, I'm the only one making suggestions for this part. Enemy Line for the next one I'm guessing or not since boss and enemy line are similar. A weapon maybe? We've done an axe, light blade, staff, and long sword. It leaves bows, knuckles & claws, and maces. I think we should go with maces. I was thinking the Thanatos Mace. Pretty neat page. Chinkycandie (talk) 20:17, 29 September 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Well... It doesn't look like a bad page, and here we are on the 2nd day of the month (I've gotta pay more attention to GSU) So Thanatos it is. ~ dkpat (talk) 18:23, 2 October 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

November 2013

Hey everyone! I'm hoping we can come up with something related to geography that we haven't done. Kalt Island? Though Craggy Peak Ruins would be an interesting one (even if I'm not sure it is well written) ~ dkpat (talk) 09:58, 25 October 2013 (CDT)Reply[reply]

December, the end of 2013

Alright everyone. The final featured article for 2013. Is there any article that has been suggested before, but we said we would do later? Or any particular article that someone would like to see? If we have a Character we could come up with it would be an alright time to do one of those. ~ dkpat (talk) 14:22, 25 November 2013 (CST)
Also, I think I would like to propose changing the rotation schedule for featured articles. Instead of every month, We do every two months. My reason for suggesting this is because the level of activity on the wiki has significantly slowed down, and We don't currently have any signs of a new game coming soon. Thoughts? ~ dkpat (talk) 14:25, 25 November 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]

If it was difficult to maintain all this, I'd be more for a two-month schedule, but I didn't find it difficult at all to do the updating for Kalt Island. It sounds like something that doesn't take me much longer to do when I also do the monthly polls, so long as each month's suggestion is put here in the talk page for me. Erik the Appreciator (talk) 15:11, 25 November 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
It doesn't take a lot to update the article. My concern is more that due to the decreased activity we won't have suggestions. If it comes to it, I'm not entirely opposed to recycling featured articles, but I think it is more of a last resort thing of course. It was just an idea, I'm not really for or against it. ~ dkpat (talk) 16:39, 25 November 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
I have no objection to a two-month rotation. Honestly, there seems to be less and less attention paid to it each month, so making it a little rarer might help us get more motivated. The World's Hungriest Paperweight (talk) 19:43, 25 November 2013 (CST)Reply[reply]
