The Fur Coat (ファーコート, Fur Coat^?) is a Clothing-class item available in Golden Sun. It is unusual for being a one-of-a-kind item that is not an Artifact.

In Golden Sun

The Fur Coat is considered a common item despite having an effect beyond the basic statistical bonuses typical for common items, that being a Mercury resistance boost. It is one of three such items that are not sold at vendors; the others are the Psynergy Armor in Golden Sun and the Vajra Mace in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Because of this, there is no way to buy it again after selling it; if sold, it is lost permanently. The Fur Coat is in a chest in Kolima Forest, accessible by solving a log rolling puzzle.

The Fur Coat's usefulness will vary depending on whether Imil or Kolima Village is visited first. If you decide to go to Kolima first, then its Mercury resistance can be very useful when you then head north to Mercury Lighthouse, where many monsters boast Mercury-based powers; it also has the most defense of any armor up to that point. If the player decides to go to the Mercury Lighthouse first, then the Adept's Clothes will outclass it, at least in terms of defense. It is still useful for its resistance, though, even as far as when the player fights the water statues in Altin.

This item offers far too few statistics to consider transferring to The Lost Age, and it is vastly outperformed by the Triton's Ward.
