January 2012

Pretty sure we can archive 2011 discussions :P Anyway I was thinking for the new year, we could start off with Briggs. I know its been a year since the release of DD but he died :( Chinkycandie 03:19, 19 December 2011 (CST)Reply[reply]

I think I'll agree to get a Character as the FA for January (after all, that would be a full cycle, since we started with one too) Briggs seems ok, maybe a bit.... lengthy but I suppose that just means it's detailed. ~ dkpat 13:33, 22 December 2011 (CST)Reply[reply]
Briggs is one of the pages I'd say is complete and ready for featuring. Its length looks like it's entirely because everything of value has been added to it, except for a personality section which could be put in. Erik the Appreciator 18:13, 22 December 2011 (CST)Reply[reply]
It sounds good to me. It seems full of large blocks of text, but as you said, Erik, it just means that it's complete. ~ dkpat 02:33, 28 December 2011 (CST)Reply[reply]

Feb 2012

Surprised no one has started this yet. I've been contributing to another Wiki :P If no one has any suggestions I'll suggest a village. Maybe Shaman Village for being the only own where Retreat is effective or perhaps Garoh, for the werewolves. Chinkycandie 02:35, 29 January 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

I don't think I have any objections to either. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 11:55, 29 January 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
Garoh seems to be better organized than Shaman Village, so I am going to suggest it over Shaman. ~ dkpat 14:20, 30 January 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
I have no objections. Chinkycandie 17:27, 30 January 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

March 2012

Since no one has been offering suggestions, I'll randomly suggest a weapon this time. Kikuichimonji looks good. Has the RNG, no spacing problems, good description, and good analysis. Or Masamune. Chinkycandie 05:35, 23 February 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

I actually kinda want to look into a consumable item... but my quick look over of the ones I would think to be more notable are.. rather lacking. :/ ~ dkpat 13:04, 25 February 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
Yeah... I more or less started the consumable item project, but never really finished it, so I doubt any of them will be featured articles anytime soon... ^_^; As for Chinky's suggestions, I haven't yet looked into the specific articles you mentioned, but we've only done one other item (also a weapon) so I won't object to adding another. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 15:31, 25 February 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
So we have one more day to decide, guys. lol Kikuichimonji sounds fun to feature, though I wish it had a few better images. It will work with me! ~ dkpat 07:51, 28 February 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
Just did a bit of cleanup, so I won't object to Kikuichimonji. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 13:33, 28 February 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

April 2012

So guys, what are we gonna do here? I want to suggest a ... something we haven't done... Piece of Armor, Class series (might need a make over...) or a Lore/Oddities page ~ dkpat 10:37, 26 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I agree. We should do something we haven't done before. I was going to suggest summons but they aren't all that good. I like the idea of doing class series but shouldn't we have an image in them? Items is a bit hard to do since their images are tiny. Every featured articles has an image accompanied with text. Chinkycandie 00:49, 27 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
So use a symbolic Energy effect image like Call Dullahan's, if can?--铁铁的火大了 (Talk) 01:43, 27 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'll agree that having an image would be ideal, but I don't think we should disqualify an article simply because it lacks one. Also, the original proposal said "armor", not "item". I'm only reiterating that because the consumable items are definitely not FA material (yet). The World's Hungriest Paperweight 20:48, 27 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
^ Armour is still an item :P Its just more specific class of item. Chinkycandie 04:06, 28 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I know, I just wanted to make that distinction clearer ;) Anyways, does anyone have any specific ideas? The World's Hungriest Paperweight 10:34, 28 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
For armor, I'd suggest the Valkyrie Mail or the Mysterious Robe. Since they're endgame armor, they both have pretty good analyses. They just might need some cleanup. Most of the armor articles are pretty short in any case. If we're doing a class, maybe the Samurai. I did try to clean up that analysis some, and its been updated to reflect Dark Dawn. --Sippyjuice 11:39, 28 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'm in support of both the Valkyrie Mail and the Samurai class series. I'm not so sure about the Mysterious Robe, though; As much as I love that thing, there doesn't seem to be as much to say about it compared to the Valkyrie Mail. At any rate, maybe we can use one of these articles for April and the other in May? The real question is: "Which one first?" The World's Hungriest Paperweight 21:07, 28 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I like the idea of doing the Samurai Class series first. Chinkycandie 21:56, 28 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Samurai sounds good to me, and I want to suggest we can use the Quick Strike Psynergy Screenshot for an image, since reading through the article, it seems it is the samurai's signature move. ~ dkpat 10:26, 29 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

No complaints there. I'd recommend the DD image myself, but I won't object to the GBA image. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 11:30, 29 March 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

May 2012

Its getting closer to the end of the month. Still thinking about armour or something else? If its something else I was thinking about a boss-Monster line. We haven't done that in awhile, same with a dungeon (this year anyway) Chinkycandie 00:22, 23 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I'd advise against anything monster-related, since Erik's currently renovating those pages. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 12:10, 23 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Well alright. How about a dungeon? We haven't done one since September. Or just a normal boss since we haven't done that since May. Chinkycandie 01:15, 24 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
dungeon might be ok, but stick away from bosses too. he's redoing those as well. (at least to some extent) ~ dkpat 10:03, 26 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Umm.... yeah soo we have today to figure it out. >_> any suggested dungeons? Any opinions on Ankohl Ruins ~ dkpat 08:58, 30 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Can't think of any objections. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 12:03, 30 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Ankohl Ruins sounds good :) Chinkycandie 00:45, 1 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

June 2012

We should probably get on this. Anybody have anything specific in mind for June? ~ dkpat 18:08, 22 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Maybe a Djinn or Psynergy? Haven't done those since the start of the year. For Psynergy, I like Diamond Dust and Diamond Berg or Douse Psynergy series (since it has utility as well) and for Djinn we could do a Mars or Venus since we haven't done those one's yet. A Djinn that appears in both GS/TLA and DD. So it has more photos and written information. Chinkycandie 19:51, 22 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Flint would probably be an obvious choice for Djinn. So I vote for him. But that's just my opinion.Zabbeth 20:29, 22 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
No objections to Flint, but I'd rather go with Douse because we haven't done any utility Psynergy yet. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 21:27, 22 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I wouldn't like to use main things. Chinkycandie 00:02, 24 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Flint should probably be featured at some point, the only reason I objected early in the project was so that it could be saved for a later time, and to promote that normal articles can be feature worthy too. I think We'll probably get to him later this year. Douse sounds ok to me though, just gotta make sure it's 100% top quality :) ~ dkpat 07:58, 24 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

July 2012

Since we've done everything except a monster line/boss and Djinn for the first half of the year. I thought was could start it now. For monster/Boss I was thinking Manticore, Avimander, or Tornado Lizard. For Djinn we could go for a Mars/Venus one. Possible Venus Djinn include: Flint, Flower, Steel, and Geode. Possible Mars Djinn include: Forge, Fever, Fury, and Fugue. Not fussed with what you guys vote for. Chinkycandie 00:25, 21 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Anyone opposed to getting Flint out of the way? ~ dkpat 09:09, 23 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
That depends. By "out of the way" do you mean "We're probably going to have Flint featured eventually, so we might as well put it up this month that way we can focus on other things in the future"? Or do you mean "I don't think we should use Flint and am proposing we remove it from the list of candidates for this month"? The World's Hungriest Paperweight 10:08, 23 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
lol, as in let's use it. ~ dkpat 10:22, 23 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Okay, just wanted to make sure ;) I have no objections. Anyone else? The World's Hungriest Paperweight 16:34, 23 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I have no objections. Next time we do a Djinn article, we'll do a Mars Djinn then. Full cycle of elemental Djinn. Chinkycandie 21:39, 23 June 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

August 2012 Time!

haha Here we go! ~ dkpat 20:37, 23 July 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Well we haven't done the boss/monster lines since October (monster line) last year and May (Boss). I'm sure Erik is done with them. Maybe do them then? Chinkycandie 21:25, 23 July 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I like it, I think I like a Boss more so. though I'm not sure what Boss would be worthy. ~ dkpat 02:24, 25 July 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Ok, Bosses I like: Tret (for being a character too), Tangle Bloom, and I really want to recommend Poseidon for the mythology trivia basically.. but it's not been rewritten... >_< ~ dkpat 15:32, 25 July 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Tret sounds good. I'm up for it :) Chinkycandie
Don't think I have any objections to Tret. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 10:08, 26 July 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

September 2012!

Surprised no one got this started. Maybe a character? But since Tret was a character too maybe not...Weapon then? We already did a staff and light blade. Maybe one of the other classes of weapons? Long Swords look ready. I like Storm Brand, Fire Brand, Darksword, and Excalibur. Chinkycandie 20:41, 30 August 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I haven't taken a close look since they were overhauled, but after a brief glance the only thing I have to say is that the Fire Brand would probably be a better choice than the Storm Brand. Probably. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 21:04, 30 August 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I like the Fire Brand too. Chinkycandie 00:52, 31 August 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
For Me, Fire Brand or Excalibur. The general consensus seems to be Fire Brand however, so it will very likely be the choice. (also I can't believe I forgot to start this discussion sooner >_<) ~ dkpat 08:56, 31 August 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

October Ahoy!

I'm blank as far as suggestions (right now at least) But, still should get this started! ~ dkpat 19:15, 23 September 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I think we can return to doing a location. Yampi Desert XD It has a boss, its where you can acquire the Scoop Gem, where you meet the Madra people, and there is also a Djinn there. Chinkycandie 20:43, 23 September 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'm not 100% sure we should do a location. But, if we do, I have no objections to Yampi. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 22:22, 24 September 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
hmm.. I thought I had another suggestion for something other than a location.. but now I can't think of it. Yampi seems like a good location, it's not a town, nor a dungeon (exactly) (Note To anyone, I'd love to have the Weyard article featured sometime after it's cleaned up... maybe January if we get lucky...) So I suppose Yampi will work out well. ~ dkpat 10:12, 27 September 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Time for November

November is coming up pretty fast, Let's get started shall we. I'm trying to look at our log of articles to see what we haven't done in a while. Enemy Line, Lore, a Summon. There's my ideas. ~ dkpat (talk) 11:33, 22 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I wanted to do a summon some time ago but it kind of still looks bleh. Enemy Line sounds good. I'd like the Manticore line or Scorpion line. Both boss and enemy. Chinkycandie (talk) 19:21, 22 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
How about one for one of the fandom sites? I know, it may be a bit... odd for a choice, but if nothing else, pushing the idea out there can at least get some of the site pages updated... GSAR could use an overhaul, for example. Rolina (talk) 01:33, 23 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I personally am definitely not against making a Fandom article featured, but none of them are up to standards. The Featured Article is meant to highlight articles of high quality. I really love the idea of featuring a fandom article, just because they can be interesting, and promote community among Golden Sun fans. ~ dkpat (talk) 07:28, 23 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'm aware, but at least now it's been brought to everyone's attention that they need updating. I've got neither the knowledge of history nor current events for many of these fansites, only having been to the GSHC, a brief stint at the ToK and TAOW, and most recently the GSAR. As such... I'm probably not qualified to bring these up to par. :/ Rolina (talk) 08:34, 25 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'm not exactly the person that can update these either, since I've not belonged to any of these communities. I pushed a while back to have the communities themselves come and write their articles (emailing my contacts that I had) but didn't gt a reply from any one. However, this is not the place for this dicussion. (Category_talk:Fandom)
So, For this month, suggestions so far we have are the Manticore enemy line and Scorpion enemy line~ dkpat (talk) 08:50, 25 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
After looking at those two articles, I kinda don't really like either of them... Manticore above scorpion but...~ dkpat (talk)
If you're still planning on doing an enemy line for November's FA, how about the Stealthy Scout enemy line? --Mercury Mech (talk) 11:27, 29 October 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

December 2012

hey guys and gals, time for our final featured article of the year! ~ dkpat (talk) 13:25, 20 November 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]

I vote for either Imil or for Kalt Island. Rolina (talk) 14:58, 20 November 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
I like the idea of Imil, though I think it could use a bit of a touch up. ~ dkpat (talk) 10:24, 27 November 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
Yeah we haven't done a town in awhile. Chinkycandie (talk) 16:56, 27 November 2012 (CST)Reply[reply]
