It is found in one of four treasure chests in Tundaria Tower that can be accessed near the dungeon's entrance after gaining the Burst Psynergy and using it to break a wall of ice open. Being a Long Sword-class weapon, the Lightning Sword can be equipped on warrior-style Adepts, namely Felix and Piers, as well as Isaac and Garet when they join up late in The Lost Age.

Its Unleash effect is Flash Edge (フラッシュエッジ, Furasshu ejji^?), with the standard base activation rate of 35%, which is a physical attack with an additional 46 points of damage added, and then the resulting damage is either increased or decreased based on how the user's Jupiter power measures against the target's Jupiter resistance. The Unleash may also inflict Delusion on the target. Visually, Flash Edge resembles merely a regular attack with a few sparks of violet light appearing at the point of impact, along with the entire screen being bathed in magenta light for a moment.

The Lightning Sword for when it can first be found is a powerful weapon in the hands of a warrior Adept even though that Adept cannot be a Jupiter Adept (Felix and Piers are Venus and Mercury Adepts, respectively), but a good way of increasing the power of its Jupiter-based Unleash is to have the blacksmith at Yallam forge a pair of Aerial Gloves from a Sylph Feather, which increases Jupiter power. It is often the case that a player will have completed Tundaria Tower and equipped this weapon before attempting Gaia Rock, and a weapon you can get after the boss battle with the Serpent is the Cloud Brand long sword with a similar Attack stat and a Jupiter-based unleash. The Lightning Sword has a little more physical attack than the Cloud Brand, but the game prices the Cloud Brand higher, and this is accurate: The Cloud Brand is the better weapon of the two because it has a superior Unleash effect.
