The Safety Boots (セーフティブーツ, Safety Boots^?) are Boots that were introduced in Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

In Golden Sun: The Lost Age

In The Lost Age, they can be bought as an Artifact in the town of Garoh, and can be equipped by all Adepts. In The Lost Age, the defense bonus is the third best of all the boots in the game, being surpassed by only the Dragon Boots and the Golden Boots. Since the Dragon Boots, which also provide resistances without any negative bonuses, can be acquired in multiples, though, that obsoletes the Safety Boots as the best defensive boots in the game, and they should not be equipped by the end of the game to substantially lower the Agility of one Adept. One thing that is for certain, though, is that the Safety Boots are far superior to Turtle Boots, which have less Defense and an even harsher Agility reduction value.

In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

The Boots reappear in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn; one pair is sold in Ayuthay as an Artifact, while another pair can be found in a chest in the treetops of Kolima Village. In Dark Dawn, they can only be equipped by Warrior-style Adepts, namely Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo.

In Dark Dawn, the Safety Boots possess the second weakest Defense boost of all Boots, with only the common Leather Boots being weaker. While the limited number of boots in the game may make the Safety Boots seem necessary, it is worth noting that Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo all have better options available to them. Matthew will usually have the Ninja Sandals, which increase his Unleash rate, while Eoleo and Tyrell have the option of equipping the Silver Greave, Hover Greave, or Knight's Greave, all of which have better Defensive boosts and additional positive effects. It is worth noting that the Agility reduction of the Safety Boots can now be canceled out by the Zol Ring, which increases Agility by 1.8. Since the player is guaranteed at least one Zol Ring early in the game, the Safety Boots can become a placeholder for the stronger Boots.
