In Dark Dawn, the Mythril Claw is one of five pieces of equipment that can be forged by taking Mythril Silver to Obaba in Champa. Once forged, Obaba will give the Mythril Claw to the player free of charge. Mythril Claws have two unleashes: Endless Edges (ミリオンエッジ, Million Edge?) and Dimension Rift (デメンションリット, Dimension Lit?). Endless Edges is a Jupiter-based elemental physical attack that multiplies damage by 1.5 and may ignore 50% of the target's Defense. Dimension Rift is a Mercury-based elemental physical attack that multiplies damage by 2.1, hits the foes immediately adjacent to the original target, and may ignore 50% of each target's Defense. As a Claw-class item, the Mythril Claw can be equipped only by Sveta.
The Mythril Claw ties with the Umbra Knuckles in terms of Attack boost, but has different Unleash effects. While the Umbra Knuckle's unleashes inflict status changes and can heal, the Mythril Claw increases damage via a chance to ignore 50% of the target's Defense. Because of the useful Unleash effects, the Mythril Claw can be used interchangeably with the Umbra Knuckles, though a few drawbacks should be noted. The Umbra Knuckles must be the weapon of choice at Apollo Sanctum, due to the Umbra Gear being a necessity for exploration. In addition, experience gained on the Mythril Claw will not transfer to the Umbra Knuckles and vice-versa, due to both weapons being of different classes.
However, out of the late-game weapons available to Sveta, the Mythril Claws are the earliest available, making them a go-to weapon for much of the later game. Whilst stronger weapons are available to Sveta – namely the Anpsi Knuckles and Bloody Claw – one is a rare drop and the other is cursed, which leads to competition regarding the sole available Cleric's Ring. Also, two of the three unleashes of the Anpsi Knuckles are aligned with Mars, which Sveta cannot easily exploit, as her highest Attack classes are Venus- and Jupiter-based. The Mythril Claw, meanwhile, has only two unleashes: both of which have a chance to ignore 50% of the target's Defense whilst sporting solid damage multipliers.
