The Sand Prince or Sand Prince Stone (すなのおうじ, Sand Prince) is a Psynergy-bestowing item in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. It is given to the party by the Sand Prince after he is defeated in combat behind Ayuthay's Alchemy Well.
When equipped, the Sand Prince bestows the Arid Heat Psynergy, a power that is very similar to the Parch Psynergy from The Lost Age. Unlike Parch, only Mars Adepts are able to equip the stone, limiting the Sand Prince Stone to Tyrell and Eoleo. This particular Psynergy can only be used on certain bowls of water that control the water levels of various areas. Its effects can be reversed using the Douse Psynergy.
The Sand Prince is first used to reverse the Alchemy Well in Ayuthay - the same place it is found - and continues to be useful by lowering the water level in many other locations like the docks in Belinsk and the ruins just outside the Apollo Sanctum.
Trivia
- Interestingly, while as an item it is referred to as the Sand Prince by the menus and Encyclopedia, it is often called the Sand Prince Stone by the characters.
- Also strangely, while called the Sand Prince in the Japanese version, the name of the boss that gives the item is the Desert Prince.
