Talk:References to popular culture

From Golden Sun Universe
Well, this is an interesting page... In my opinion this page could be useful, but that depends on how many valid references to modern pop culture (different from the mythical Cultural Illusions we've been doing) one can find in the games. If there's hardly any, this page is better off merged somewhere, but a lot of entries would make for an interesting page indeed. ...Like I said. I'd like to suggest that if this page stays (and it probably should, unless it's just the one reference), that we organize the references by in-game location rather than by source. But to be honest, I can't remember any other pop-culture references. 'Course, I never really looked for that sort of thing, but... —Hinoa talk.un 15:47, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey, if we look, I'm sure we can find plenty. Game makers are geeks, remember, so I wouldn't put it past Camelot. AlishaShatogi 02:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Another thing we could do is make this page list all references to other historical culture, like noting the Egyptian Pharoah head in Suhalla Desert and the Sarcophagus Unleash, and all the Greek and Roman/themed properties that appear in the game, and have Pop Culture as a separate section. I can imagine people being interested in having all that arranged in one place. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 20:50, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
If we do that then we may have to change the name of the article. I'm not complaining or anything, just pointing out. The world's hungriest paperweight 22:13, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Pop =! historical. (that's does not equal by the way.) AlishaShatogi 20:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Possible Pop Culture References

I don't really know a lot about popular culture, but recently I heard of a song called 500 Miles (or something like that), and it reminded me of part of The Lost Age. It's when you first enter Alhafra, and the Madrans follow you in. I remember one of them saying something about how it feels like he's walked "500 miles". Like I said, I don't know much about popular culture, but this could be one. ...On a completely different note, here's a message for Erik: Up above, you mentioned Cultural Illusions, but I think you meant Allusions. That is all. The world's hungriest paperweight 15:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Page usefulness

Given that there's only two items on the page, perhaps it would be more useful to put the information on the pages for, say, Kolima and Briggs under sections headed pop culture references or something? If we suddenly find a bunch more pop culture references, we can always recreate this. Dracobolt 09:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm starting to think that's a good thing to do by now... It can be in trivia sections under those pages. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 00:59, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
