Wondering about images

First of all, a humongous load of thanks from me to you for dedicating your time to improve the site using the page formats previously established. Any help is more than welcome here. :)

Thing is, I'm not sure if it's really a good idea to use the animated monster gifs from Golden Sun Syndicate; on Wikipedia it states to not upload images from other sites, for they will be deleted. While I'm somewhat sure these rules aren't quite as strict on this Wiki, I think a lot of people would recommend creating our own images for the monsters like I've been doing because a wikis' content is supposed to be freely distributable. The main reason we've been using item icons from the site is because there's over 250 item icons, making our own images for all of them would take forever, and they would look exactly the same as the Syndicate icons; refraining from using their monster images in addition to their icons would probably make the webmasters of the Syndicate happier. Thanks. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 20:07, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Afraid I must protest for a number of reasons:

1. The sprites weren't from Golden Sun Syndicate, they were from http://rpg-home.lunar-net.com/

2. I noticed you uploaded animations of Isaac and Garet from Golden Sun Syndicate. That's pretty much the same as the monster sprites.

3. Even if the icons are the same as Syndicate's, using them is really no different than using the enemy animations. Besides, the icons' pages mentions that they were from Syndicate.

4. GS Syndicate can't really complain about anyone using the spirtes because technically they didn't make them, Camelot did. Even if they ripped them, that still doesn't make them theirs. --Mia Fan 03:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Good answers. I guess I'm not too sure of myself, then... Maybe it really doesn't matter if little pics are found on sites, so long as they're sourced to those sites. I honestly wasn't aware of item 1, so I'll have to investigate. Thanks for the feedback. :) Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 16:46, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
