Category talk:Hoaxes

From Golden Sun Universe

Is there really merit for a category on hoaxes? I don't think there's any other hoaxes out there. The only other untrue thing I'm aware of in Golden Sun is the rumor that the Mystery Blade from Crossbone Isle can be used as a forging item in Yallam. Aside from that, GREAT work on the category input!!! Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 01:44, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Thing is, though, I'm not sure where else to put the Wheat Sword. I'm reluctant to put it in with the rest of Category:Weapons in case someone thinks it actually is a weapon (which I presume has happened). Got any ideas? Hinoa talkUN 01:58, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
It's either not giving it a category at all or giving it the weapon category, and the later option might actually be the more beneficial one because seeing the famous name in the category of weapons will encourage the uninformed reader to look it up and find out once and for all that it really is just a joke weapon. Notice I called it a joke weapon; I think people would expect the Wheat Sword classified as one at any rate. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 03:35, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
All right. I recategorized the Wheat Sword into Categories:Weapons and Unacquirable items. Now the matter remains about what we're going to do with this category. The wiki's only sysop hasn't done a damn thing in the entire time this wiki has been open. I suppose we could either give him a swift kick in the arse or talk it out with Wikia... I guess the sysop never even bothered trying to make a big thing out of this. Dracobolt simply discovered this wikia sometime after it had been created and started doing something with it, but I don't think the creator is planning to emerge. A talk with Wikia would be advisable... we'll at least need someone capable of operating the place. Kyarorain 23:37, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
But the $64,000 dollar question is "who?" Hinoa talkUN 00:57, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Mmm... I might say that right now, since there hasn't really been any issues yet, and in fact not a single vandalism has occured yet, we can afford to wait some time longer before deciding on that. I wouldn't declare Dracobolt out of the picture yet; you have to keep in mind that she's a college student and this time of year is likely when all the exams would be taking place, so of course she wouldn't be doing much right now. (In fact, if my class layout this semester included another class to contend with, I probably wouldn't be editing.) Look at Dracobolt's list of contributions and you'll see some work done right after the wiki's creation. And I'm not too sure if operating a wiki on such a comparatively specific subject as Golden Sun is really all that hard to do. I think just sitting tight for a bit is what's best. Uh, my point was that I don't think Dracobolt HAS ops... I don't think the original creator gave ops to anyone... I'm certainly not suggesting Dracobolt made a few pages and did a runner. That's what the person who made this wikia did, it seems. But at any rate, I don't suppose we have to worry about vandalism yet, so yeah, we'll sit tight. Kyarorain 04:08, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
And besides, I can grab my Uncyc javascript page and give myself a user revert button in case the Visigoths do come. Hinoa talkUN 04:22, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
