To delete or not to delete?

Let's see, we've got this category, Category:Items forged from materials, and Category:Rusty items. Do we really need all three? I think we can safely get rid of this category, especially considering how sparsely it's used. Or maybe we should keep this category and get rid of the "Items forged from materials" category. Personally, I think "Forgeable Materials" sounds better, although I'll admit "Items forged from materials" is a more accurate title. Either way, forgeable items and rusty items really aren't the same (all they have in common is that you need to take them to a blacksmith), so I think we should keep the rusty items category and get rid of one of the other two. Which do you think we should keep? "Forgeable Materials" or "Items forged from materials"? Or should we get rid of both and create a brand new category with a different name? For example, a category named "Forgeable items" would be more generic and all-encompassing than "Forgeable Materials", and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to justify including both forgeable and forged items in the category. So all raw materials, rusty weapons, and anything that could be made from forging either one would be in the category? That sounds good, since forgeable could mean either kind. TheOthin 16:51, 22 June 2011 (CDT)

No, I meant keep the category for rusty items then have a separate category for the items that are actually forged. They may have similarities, but they also have a number of differences. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 20:48, 22 June 2011 (CDT)

Hmmm, now that I think about it, we may not need to get rid of any of them. It seems that this category was meant to act as a "hub" that encompasses both forgeable materials and rusty items, similar to the categories for weapons and armor in general. However, since there's currently only one article that discusses rusty items, this category is a bit redundant. The solution: Find other related articles that can be added. For example, adding Sunshine and Obaba to this category would tell people who to take these items to.

If nobody objects, I'll probably change this cat into such a "hub category" and make the other two categories sub-cats. Although I'll probably rename this Category:Forgeable items for reasons discussed above. The World's Hungriest Paperweight 20:51, 23 June 2011 (CDT)
