Template talk:-

From Golden Sun Universe

The reason I changed the template was due to the absurd amount of spacing that was around the nav templates at the end of a page. I reduced it in another way as well, but it would be nice to have it not so. ~ dkpat 12:39, 23 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

Hmm, well, I had copied your changes to a separate template at {{--}} for if you need to use that to take care of the nav template spacing issue. I would have proposed you use that, but would it be more convenient if the two templates' syntax are swapped and I replace each now-unspaced {{-}} with a now-spaced {{--}} in the enemy line pages? The problem here is that this template is used by like a bazillion pages. Any change to it will have effects throughout the wiki. I had hoped that changing it like I did wouldn't effect things badly. As I understood, the primary purpose of the template was to clear margins/floats. So... I was kinda surprised to see that it was being done with a br. (in fact, I'm really not sure that it is achieving it's main goal because I don't think the code in it exists) But... yeah.. ~ dkpat 14:00, 23 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Well, if {{-}} is actually used by an enormous amount of pages outside the enemy lines, then that would mean it should use your changes, and I should update the enemy line pages with {{--}}s that have the space which is useful for keeping the enemy lines more consistently separate. Just did a quick check, it is in use in some way on over 1000 pages. lol. I will say that my edit is less intrusive, because it will have literally no effect other than what it claims it's purpose is. But we will probably need to spot check various pages on the wiki to check for problems it may cause. ~ dkpat 14:18, 23 May 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
