Ply vs Pray

Like with the Terror/Tera Shield thing, Ply can easily be seen as a mistake on Camelot Japan's side. In terms of naming thematics between this and Wish, the hints in the Mercury lighthouse lost in translation ("Pray to the goddess"), and the actual icon of praying hands in Dark Dawn, it appears as though what they meant it to be called is Pray, not Ply. In fact, one localization team over in Europe actually caught this, and calls the spell Prayer (don't remember which one, though). Rolina (talk) 14:22, 26 October 2012 (CDT)

Except that the Japanese name doesn't actually sound like "Pray;" it sounds like "Ply" - as in OAD def 2.3: "provide someone with (food or drink) in a continuous or insistent way." If it was Pray, it would be プレイ Purei; instead they use the kana プライ Purai, Camelot, despite other weird inconsistencies, is actually pretty consistent about choosing the right sounds for these things in the game. From the looks of it, though, it is most likely a mistranslation on Camelot's end, beit a mistake in the translation itself or the writing of the kana. A few regions caught on and actually call it Prayer in their localized versions, but I can't remember which ones they are off the top of my head. I'll trust your judgement on the movement, as I'm still not too experienced when it comes to putting wikis together, and as it's rather a matter of trivia anyways, I find it fitting there.
