Some random IP added a LOT of information. I rearranged it an wikifyed it. I'm guessing it's from a website - it seems to refer only to the first game (I added the Mars Lighthouse reference). Uhh... WHAT?

I'm sorry... but... I'm starting to read this and, already I'm calling BS on it. Take a look at the 'forms and symbolism' bit. I have seen that NOWHERE in the canon. I mean... come on. Combining elements? I've seen that to a TINY extent with summons, but not in the way that claims. Apparently some IP had done that. I'm heading to bed soon, so if nobody's already fixed all the crap in the article by the time I wake up, I'll go ahead and fix it.

I agree with myself from 8 years ago (apparently I did have an account?) - most of the information on this page seems to be fannon, not canon. Mercury is Ice in its purest form? Venus becomes Electricity when mixed with Jupiter? That's... all kinds of nonsense. I think this should have a rework done to it, and in light of Dark Dawn, perhaps we should look into creating a page on the Fundaments as well? WitchRolina (talk) 01:05, 18 January 2017 (CST)

Considering additional revisions

I don't know how likely it is that anyone will respond on a talk page in current year, but I'm gonna leave some thoughts here even if it's just me who comes back later to read and make further edits:

The "Combining Elements" section strikes me as not really on-topic here - it's not very focused and mostly deals with how different classes affect psynergy, which would be more appropriate on various other pages (e.g. Psynergy, Class, the pages on the item classes, etc)

The "Other information" section also seems to be solely about Psynergy, so it would be more suited to that page.

I think that both of these sections should be removed or heavily reworked, with any relevant information in them being placed in other more appropriate pages (assuming said information isn't already there)

If these sections are removed, however, the article would become fairly short... Is there more that could be added that actually involves the elements themselves?

Well, even if a case could be made that some of the content here is only somewhat related to the named topic, I don't think it hurts to leave it up just to have something for the page to feature. This wiki is more like a document of a gaming relic and wouldn't scream for that much scrutiny of its content arrangement like it would if we were getting new Golden Sun media every so often... That's an interesting point that I hadn't considered. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so my view has been to sort of look at the wiki as a living and breathing thing even if it's been years since most pages have been edited. But it's true that as a dormant franchise, thinking of this wiki as a window into the past also has a certain appeal... That's something to consider. Perhaps in the absence of outright errors, there is an appeal in keeping things as-is. Although, should the franchise ever return (though I'm not holding out hope for it to do so), then that philosophy would probably have to change... EmptySet (talk) 08:33, 25 August 2022 (CDT)
