Flint's tutorial

Dialogue strings

The four elements are the basic building blocks of all matter.
The elemental spirits are called Djinn.
The four elements are Venus for Earth, Mercury for Water,
Mars for Fire, and Jupiter for Wind.
Each element has many Djinn.
When you set a Djinni, its elemental power may change your class
or Psynergy. In battle, you can unleash the powers of set Djinn.
When a Djinni is standing by, you can use it to summon in battle.
To use a summon immediately, put your Djinn on standby before
battle. But be careful, because changing set Djinn to standby changes
your class and Psynergy.
If you have a standby Djinni in battle, you can use it to summon.
After summoning, the Djinni will be in recovery until it has
recovered all its power. Recovering Djinni cannot be unleashed
or used to summon.
If a Djinni's power is used to summon, the Djinni enters recovery.
After it has recovered its power, it will set itself once again.
When a Djinni is set to an Adept, its power may change the Adept's
class. Find your own unique combinations of Djinni to improve your
characters' classes.
Psynergy is a mental power. People who wield it are called Adepts.
Psynergy can change with class changes or when you go up a level.
Try changing your class to earn new Psynergy.
To give your Djinni to someone else, move it like this.

After choosing who will take the Djinni, you can set it.

When your class changes, the Psynergy you can use may also change.

Setting a Djinni changes your attributes and maybe even your class.

Each Djinni has different powers.

Once we are set, you can unleash us to use our powers.

So, let me demonstrate the power of my attack, Isaac.

See! When you unleashed me, I attacked with my mighty stone-cleaver!

After being unleashed, we Djinn will then stand by to be summoned...

If you have standby Djinn, you can summon even greater powers!

Choose this command to unleash me in battle, OK?

Then you can summon even greater powers!

After a Djinni has been used to summon, it must spend time in recovery.

And after we recover, we will set ourselves again and be ready to attack.

That's all you have to do to unleash a set Djinni!

Oh!

A traveling warrior!

And I see you're an Adept, too!

You are just the kind of fighter that I've been looking for.

Won't you please take me along with you?

I am a Venus Djinni. My name is Flint.

I must find my comrades.
We were separated from each other when the volcano erupted.

...Maybe you can help gather my friends together as you travel.

If you let me join you, I'll prove to be very beneficial to you Adepts!

Your Psynergy will grow stronger, and your Adept skills will also improve.

You can call on us in battle or just use our power to boost your own!

If you call on many of us at once, our powers will work together!

What do you think? Will you take me with you?

Come on! I promise you won't regret it! Please take me with you!

Pleeeease! I'll never let you down. Can't I go with you?

No, I'm serious! I'll never, ever disappoint you. Please!!!

PLEASE take me with you! Please! I'm begging!

Please!

Take me with you!

Meanie!
I don't care what you say! I'm coming along with you!

Oh, you'll see! You won't regret it!

Flint, the Venus Djinni, is now Isaac's ally!

Now, I'll briefly teach you how to use Djinn.

After bringing a Djinni into your party, you must set it to somebody.

Next, I'll show you how you can use us in battle.

See! We Djinn can be very useful, can't we?

And one more thing...

So, we go from set to standby to recovery, then back to set.

This is the simplest way to use us.

Did you get all that?

Hmmmm, shall I explain it all to you again?

Well, then, I guess I'll start from the beginning, OK?

Oh, yeah! If you want to learn more about Djinn, refer to the help, OK?

Okay, I'll join you now. Thank you very much!
Please, use us Djinn wisely.

Hey, buddy, wanna try yer luck at the dice?
It's [number] coin(s) to play.

OK! Then take the dice.

No? Oh, well. Who's next?

Read the sign if ya don't know the rules.

Hey! Ya don't have enough coins! Ya gotta pay to play.

Ya won [number] coin(s)! Talk about lucky!

Ya lost [number] coin(s). Better luck next time.

Lucky Dice
Throw the dice on the table and try to get the same numbers.
Prizes are based on the numbers rolled and where each die lands.
The more numbers that match, the more you win.

Lucky Dice
If two numbers match on either the dice or the table...
it's called a pair, and you don't win or lose anything.
Two pair doubles your money. Triple matches triple your money.
Four of a kind is perfect, and you win five times your bet.
Plus, if your dice come up perfect on the Perfect Bonus spot
on the table, you win an even bigger bonus!

Ya won [number] coin(s)! Talk about lucky!

Ya lost [number] coin(s). Better luck next time.

Lucky Dice is all the rage in Tolbi. You can play it year-round.

Whoa! Getting triple digits is real tough!

I don't want to stop playing Lucky Dice, but I can't spend anymore!

Winning or losing is pure luck. I ain't cheatin' nobody.

The rules for Lucky Dice ain't all that hard.
Ya can even learn 'em while ya play.

Sometimes, people who have never played Lucky Dice win the most.
They call that beginner's luck.

Thinking won't help you win this game. When I try to think
about how to throw the dice, I lose. Maybe I think too much.

My luck has run out for today. I better quit playing.

Step right up and try your hand at lucky wheels!

You gotta have game tickets to play.

You have [number] game ticket(s), [main-character].
Would you like to use these tickets?

The rules are listed on the sign. Take a look, take a look.

You can't carry any more items. Are you sure you want to play?

If you win anything, you might not be able to take it with you.
Is that okay?

Then get rid of some items and come again.

Step right up and enjoy yourself.

Choose how many tickets you'll use.

Are you ready to quit?

Now, we'll start round [number].

Congratulations!

You won [item]! Here you go.

And you won [item]! Here you go.

Come again!

Too bad... Come back after you get some tickets.

If you get lucky, something good will happen.

If you toss a Lucky Medal and you get really lucky,
you'll get a better prize than you would with a coin.

Tolbi Spring has mysterious powers.
Stand with your back to the spring, and throw a coin at the target!

Do you have a Lucky Medal?

Oh, you do? How...lucky!
That means you'll be extra lucky if you toss it in the fountain!

Hmm... If I were going to try my luck, I'd want to use a Lucky Medal.

Too bad I only have one Lucky Medal.
I don't want to risk losing it if I miss, since it's my only one...

Hmm? Do you want to test your luck at Tolbi Spring?

Oh, you don't? Well, I'm just going to keep trying for a while.

Really? Well then, I'll give you the chance to go first.

Ah... I guess I just don't have very much luck. How about you?

I keep losing coins, but I just can't stop! What's wrong with me?

Would you like to challenge Tolbi Spring?

What will you throw?

Well, you would have won faster if you had me around!

Wow, Isaac.
I could watch without any worries.

You came back safe and sound!
My prayers must have been heard!

Isaac, it's not my fault we lost.
We need to work on our teamwork. Let's try harder next time!

I'm sorry we lost.
