Fandom Link
I want to propose that we change one of the existing links into a link to the Fandom category... I realize that our fandom articles are definitely not up to par (and I really wish that they were) But it can be said that the fandom of Golden Sun is an extremely integral part of the series. During the 7 year gap between the games it was the fan-sites that kept the series alive and really established as a game to not forget. Any thoughts? ~ dkpat (talk) 13:58, 23 October 2012 (CDT)
- Well then why was the Lore category even made? I remember that around the time this template was made, Lore was a tenth category that had been come up with to round out the other nine categories because someone decided somewhere that the Fandom category, which would have been the tenth category otherwise, was not worthy of front-page representation... - User_talk:Dkpat/sandbox Found it! Though, I went searching through some old history of the Main Page, and I see that at one time, Fandom was on the Directory (it was replaced with Djinn by you, Erik). I hadn't realized that. ~ dkpat (talk) 16:54, 23 October 2012 (CDT)
- Oh yeah, there was once a time when Djinn didn't have their own articles, instead being entirely made up of a few short lists, and starting each Djinni's own page made that worth a front page category. But anyway, I think it's apparent that the question will be whether to keep Lore on this template or replace it with Fandom... I don't think it should be replaced because Fandom would be the only clearly unofficial non-Camelot-related link in an otherwise uniformly official set of links. It might be a better idea to find some way to put a link to a Fandom category elsewhere on the main page. Erik the Appreciator (talk) 17:10, 23 October 2012 (CDT)
- You seem to be forgetting another option: Add a twelfth category to round out the addition of Fandom. If there isn't enough horizontal space, we can change the format from two rows, five/six columns to three rows, four columns. The only problem is, I have no idea what the twelfth category might be... - This is an idea... but I'm not entirely sure If I agree with it. I have no idea (without further thought) about what our 12th link could be. (and I'm not sure if 6 links would squish too much or not) Also, I can understand your point, Eric, but I'm really not sure where else we could put such a link. I think it deserves as much attention as the official topics of interest and should be just as important to the wiki as any of the others.
