Whoa, what a difference. =P At least the artstyle is retained and even a little more refined. Caasi(talk) 20:18, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Parentage Speculation

My money is on windshipping... The Purple eyes kinda give it away as well as the mischievous look on her face. Alternatively, she might be Matthew's sister, and mudshipping won out as blue and yellow make green (her hair). But that's just me. Tanooki1432 01:20, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

While everyone else in the GS community is certainly free to resume speculation on this matter, I'm personally just going to wait until the game itself is released to see the real answer if it exists. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 01:23, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
^I like this answer (sorry for the spam, but I just agree too much to remain silent). Slax01 01:32, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
Something I will say is that this is a perfect subject to discuss on the wiki's Forums, though. Somebody should start a topic and link it here... Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 02:38, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
Bonk. The Lord of the Wiki hath spoken, and thus it shall be. Tanooki1432 21:07, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Someone added text on Karis' biography stating that she is likely the daughter of Ivan and Mia, basing this theory on hair and eye color. Maybe it's just me, but I don't believe that should be there. 174.30.133.171 05:58, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed, that's precisely the type of content we'd want to avoid. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 08:33, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
Okay then. It definitely looks a lot better now. By the way, that earlier comment was me, I just didn't realize I wasn't logged in. MarioCrono92 16:42, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

I just got the latest issue of Nintendo Power yesterday. It states that she is Ivan's daughter in it. Though her's (or anyone else's for the matter) mother is still a mystery. [1] Morgil27 21:44, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

But that's the American magazine, right? We've had problems before with American magazines asserting things about Golden Sun DS that weren't true, so it's not like it can be proven right now that Nintendo Power isn't just making an assumption. At best, it can only be stated in the article right now that Nintendo Power has stated it, rather than reporting it as a fact. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 22:12, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
I have no idea what you're talking about. Did they get something wrong in the past? What did they say? Well, i still trust this article. Morgil27 19:04, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

So she's been confirmed to be Ivan's daughter now? She's also listed as Hama's niece I noticed. MarioCrono92 08:44, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Utility Psyenergy

Can Karis use Mind Read? noone seems to have mentioned it so far and itwould be a little odd if one Jupiter Adept can read minds but the other can't.Vita-chan 17:42, 8 December 2010 (CST)Reply[reply]

She can't, and a piece of dialogue even discusses how she failed to inherit it from her father and why it is both a curse and kind of a blessing that she can't read minds. Erik the Appreciator 17:50, 8 December 2010 (CST)Reply[reply]

Fan Content

I disagree with adding fan content to pages: not everyone agrees on fan-made ideas, and such fan content can also overexpand. Also, mixing fan content and real information often causes one to overshadow the other Therefore, I am going to remove such fan content from Karis' page. If you disagree, explain why. --96.242.163.228 12:10, 14 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I entirely disagree with you. It isn't harming the factual information given at all. It simply provides a further dimension of knowledge. It was at the bottom of the page in a place where most of the information has already been presented. I don't quite see how the fan knowledge could possibly overshadow the factual information either. ~ dkpat 14:06, 14 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
I'd like to point out that fan content is down there for the same reason as all the extensive quote lists: the wiki had always been intended as a resource for fan fiction authors in the GS community and other types of creative fans, in addition to the normal encyclopedia goals of game guides and plot summaries. The wiki was originally started back when fics were a more prevalent aspect of the community, anyway. So, not only do I agree it's harmless for that to be way at the bottom, I think it goes in line with what the wiki's about. Erik the Appreciator 14:15, 14 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
Every playable character has had the fan content section long before you (random contributor) probably noticed it. Like the two before me said, it does no harm. Chinkycandie 19:41, 14 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I'm willing to give the IP a few days to explain themselves further, but if that doesn't happen, I want to add it back. Further, if the removal continues to happen, even if they do explain themselves and we still don't agree, I think I will propose a ban to the IP on the grounds of removing content from pages. ~ dkpat 12:38, 19 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]

I would assume that the disagreement partially stems from the way the content is worded. The text may sound like it is saying something that is inherently non-verifiable in a "factual" matter. Which, of course, is something wikis try to avoid. That makes me think that the real discussion should be on how the fan content on each page should be improved or revised so that it doesn't look in any way to be trying to promote ideas to players who may think differently about the characters and other parts. We'd have to find some way to achieve that while still providing content that summarizes, in a non-biased manner, what the general fan community and its fiction-writing aspects think and discuss about each character. Erik the Appreciator 14:10, 19 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
It does not offend anyone unless you're madly obsessed with a fictional character (and only stupid people do this). Also, we've given reasons for it to stay, he has given one and this person acts like they own the wiki by being a random contributor and deleting other people's written work. Like I said before, its on every playable character's page. Why is it specifically Karis' page that should be removed? Chinkycandie 20:31, 19 April 2012 (CDT)Reply[reply]
