Jupiter Djinni enemy line (Dark Dawn)

From Golden Sun Universe

In each game in the Golden Sun series, a portion of the available Djinn that can be collected must be engaged and defeated in a battle before it is added to the inventory. Each Djinni counts as its own separate enemy that has different abilities from all the rest. While various battled Djinn decide to fight you once you interact with them in an environment, there are also Djinn that only appear by being randomly encountered in specific areas of the overworld that otherwise appear to be featureless scenery.

This is a listing of all Jupiter Djinn throughout Golden Sun: Dark Dawn that need to be battled. Also see Jupiter Djinni enemy line (GBA).

In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

Eight Jupiter Djinn must be defeated in battle before they are added to the Djinn collection.

Gust

GSDD-Gust.png

Gust will situate itself in the top screen of Goma Highlands Road, in a spot that cannot be reached from the ground level. It can only be reached by exiting west out of the nearby Carver's Camp a special way; in town, go counterclockwise around the northwest house until you are to the upper right of an earth pillar on a path that suggests it can be moved right two tiles. Your remote Move Psynergy can be used to move this earth pillar right two spaces, dropping it down. Now you can hop onto it and exit off the left side of the screen on the elevated green route. Now on an elevated portion of the last screen of Goma Highlands Road, go to the lower left to the tip by the gondola station, face left toward a gondola, and cast Fireball to propel it to the station. Hop onto its seat and cast Fireball again to transport yourself to the elevated lower left corner of the screen. Follow the linear path along the elevated perimeter clockwise to where Gust is waiting, and fight it to obtain it. A nearby cliff slide will let you return to Carver's Camp quickly.

Gust is a level 6 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Jolt

GSDD-Jolt.png

Jolt is found on the Konpa Ruins dungeon early in the game, at the exterior roof area that you exit out onto while exploring the dungeon normally. First, you had to have cleared the room that gives you the Grip Crystal, and have equipped it to Matthew to bestow on him the Grip Psynergy in order to leave the room. Once back outside, go to the upper right and climb a ladder to an isolated spire, and cast Grip on the spire left of that to pull yourself left across a chasm. You will immediately see Jolt spot you and go up to the top of the roof. Follow it up there, and it will elude you for as long as you try to run after it. Approach it until it parks itself right next to one of the two spires, and then head back down so that you're parked next to the opposite facing spire. Remotely cast Grip on the spire next to Jolt to propel yourself into Jolt, knocking it aside and making it attack you. Defeat it in battle to add it to your Djinn collection. Jolt will be permanently missed once Konpa Cave is exited out of its south exit.

Jolt is a level 9 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Ether

GSDD-Ether.png

Ether is one of the Djinn that is findable by being randomly fought in a specific area of the game's overworld that otherwise appears to be featureless scenery. It is an area of forest that you pass by if you go east of Passaj, and is directly west of the town Kaocho, divided by a river. Fight here until you find and defeat Ether in battle in order to get it.

Ether is a level 11 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Vortex

GSDD-Vortex.png

Vortex resides inside the Ouroboros dungeon at Kaocho that you explore after returning to Kaocho with Amiti in your party. When you make it into the B2 room where Vortex is visible at the right end, cast Whirlwind on the Zol cube, then quickly climb the ladder to the left and hop your way to it, and walk north onto the elevated path. To get the Djinni, the Cobra Head facing you down this path should be moved left with the Move Psynergy, and then you should press down against the small green pyramid tile northwest of the Djinni. Cast Move several times to Move the cobra head behind the djinni three spaces left so that it falls down to ground level. Slide back down to the ground level via the west slide, then push the Zol cube right so that it stops against the cobra head. Whirlwind it here, then hop east across it to reach Vortex. Battle it to add it to your collection, then take the room's north exit.

Vortex is a level 15 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Doldrum

GSDD-Doldrum.png

Doldrum is found and fought in the dungeon in Craggy Peak. Craggy Peak has twelve hallways leading to twelve puzzle rooms, each themed off one of the twelve in the Zodiac, and Doldrum is in the hallway to the Taurus room. Enter this hallway, hop up once to the right, and cast Grip on the white spire to rotate a stairwell counterclockwise so that the stairwell connects to an elevated platform to the left. Hop right and up, and use Grip on the other stairwell to rotate it counterclockwise and make the stairwell connect north. You can now hop to the stairwell, climb it, and hop left to the elevated door to the Taurus room, but you will see Doldrum in the jaws of a lion-head statue to the left. Cast Fireball on it to make it drop to the platform below. Retrace your steps back to the hall's entrance, and go up to the elevated platform to the left and follow its path north to where Doldrum now resides. Fight it to earn it, then continue to the Taurus room to progress with the dungeon.

Doldrum is a level 18 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Puff

GSDD-Puff.png

Puff is present at the penultimate screen of the dungeon-style location Talon Peak. Before you are able to get to it, you have to go through the series of cutscenes at the top screen of Talon Peak that both precede and follow the boss battle against the Mountain Roc. Once you are able to move around freely within the interior of the slain roc and go through the back exit to return outside, head to the right corner of the screen to the right of the stone wing, to where the now-cracked ledge is. Cast Crush on this to reveal a cliff slide, and slide down it to get to Puff to the lower left. Fight it and earn it now, because if you go through the last gate inside the depths of the upcoming Belinsk Ruins dungeon, Puff can be permanently missed because Talon Peak becomes no longer accessible.

Puff is a level 27 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Name HP PP Attack Defense Agility Luck

Lull

GSDD-Lull.png

Lull is inside the first room of Otka Island; once Himi is recruited into the party in Yamata City on the island of Nihan, the tiny island northwest of that, Otka Island, can be accessed by steering the ship into the whirlwind that whirls through the ocean east of Angara in a set pattern. The whirlwind will drop the ship off inside the enclosed perimeter of the island, and once you get inside the dungeon's first room, use Himi's Search Psynergy while the screen encompasses the telltale purple sparkles to make platforms appear where the sparkles are. Hop across the newly formed left platform, then hop up and right to get to where Lull waits in plain sight.

Lull is a level 40 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:

Simoom

GSDD-Simoom.png

Simoom is one of the Djinn that is only found by being randomly encountered in a specific area of the overworld map that otherwise appears to be featureless scenery. It is in the center, largest "desert island" among the group of desert islands south of the game's main continent, Angara. The island can be accessed as soon as you obtain the sailing ship and can sail the sea for the first time. Simoom then must be battled and defeated to be acquired.

Simoom is a level 40 enemy, and it is especially likely to be affected by PP-draining effects. Its statistics are as follows:
