Saturos.

Saturos is the primary antagonist of the first Golden Sun. An accomplished Mars Adept and warrior hailing from a village in the distant Northern Reaches like his equally merciless partner Menardi, he is responsible for setting off the plot of the game by raiding Sol Sanctum both in the prologue and at the start of the main game, seeking the Elemental Stars contained within. Both incidents cause Mt. Aleph to threaten the village of Vale at its base, which leads to a party of young Adepts led by the Valean resident Isaac taking up a quest to pursue Saturos and stop him from lighting the Elemental Lighthouses with the Stars, which threaten to release the dangerous force of Alchemy into the world of Weyard. Saturos and Menardi round up two other like-minded Adepts in Felix and Alex and two hostages from Vale, Jenna and Kraden, to support his efforts, and both Mars Adepts are fought as boss encounters at several points throughout the first game. Felix voluntarily continues the quest in Saturos' stead throughout Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and Saturos and Menardi's original motives for seeking the breaking of Alchemy's seal are only revealed to the player near the end of the second game.

  • ...that Alex being stated in the Japanese version of the first game to be the apprentice to Mia's late father, taken together with the third game revealing Alex and Mia to be cousins, means Alex was the apprentice of his uncle?
  • ...that the Black Orb was renamed "Black Crystal" in The Lost Age?
  • ...that Elemental Power Psynergy like Flare Storm are twice as sensitive to Elemental Power and Resistance comparisons as Elemental Physical Attacks like Heat Wave?
  • ...that in The Lost Age, disembarking at the lowest part of the beach immediately southwest Loho lets you explore much of the overworld land in Golden Sun, but none of the original game's locations can be entered? (e.g. when you try to enter Vale, you stay on the overworld and look like you're walking all over it)
  • ...that in Dark Dawn, while any party member or any enemy is highlighted as the target(s) for a battle command, moving the stylus across the screen manually rotates the camera?

About Us

We are on a perpetual quest to create and maintain a comprehensive reference and database for Nintendo and Camelot Software Planning's series of Japanese role-playing games, Golden Sun. If you're feeling adventurous, you are invited to join our intrepid party of Adepts and help us craft the most complete tome of knowledge for the Golden Sun series on the Internet.

Note that this site contains SPOILERS. While templates are in place in various articles to indicate to readers that there is storyline material that players yet to complete the games may not yet know and may not yet want to know, if you haven't finished the currently-released games, then you read at your own risk.

If you would like to be involved in revitalizing the wiki, you can join the Golden Sun United Nations Discord server, where we will be coordinating things.
