Babi

Babi (ハビ Babi) was the mayor of Tolbi for a very long time, due to an extended lifetime from the Lemurian draught. His closest advisor is Iodem. He instituted the event of Colosso and orchestrated the kidnapping of Sheba from Lalivero in order to coerce the people of that town to work on building Babi Lighthouse. Babi wanted to construct a lighthouse so that he could find and send ships to Lemuria to obtain more of the Lemurian draught. However, he was unable to receive the draught in time, and passed away roughly halfway through Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

Babi is able to use some Psynergy, most notably Cloak, but is not considered an Adept.

Among other things, it is remotely possible the Babi subplot is a reference to the Biblical story of the Tower of Babel, in which men attempt to build a tower to Heaven, in an assertion of their own power and in apparent defiance of God. Babi's selfish quest for immortality can be compared with this desire to be like a God. Also, one of the NPCs in Lalivero asserts that the lighthouse isn't a lighthouse - it's a Tower to the Heavens.
