The Umbra Knuckles are a Fist-class weapon introduced in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. The Umbra Knuckles are one piece of the Umbra Gear, an equipment set necessary for entering Apollo Sanctum.

Basic Description by Game

The Umbra Knuckles increase the wielder's Attack by 160. As the Umbra Knuckles are required for completion of the game, they cannot be bought or sold.

In Dark Dawn, the Umbra Knuckles are found in a chest located in Burning Island Cave and can be equipped only by the Jupiter Adept, Sveta. They have three Unleashes: Savage Raptor, Feral Rush, and Shadow Cannon. Savage Raptor is a Venus-based Unleash that multiplies damage by 1.5 and may inflict Venom on the target. Feral Rush is a Venus-based Unleash that multiplies damage by 1.6, and may heal the user by the amount of damage dealt. Shadow Cannon is a Venus based Unleash that doubles damage and may Stun the target.

Analysis

The Umbra Knuckles are the third-strongest weapon Sveta can equip, tied with the Mythril Claw and surpassed only by the Anpsi Knuckles and Bloody Claw. However, since the Umbra Knuckles are required to enter Apollo Sanctum, they will be her weapon of choice for the final portion of the game. All three of the Umbra Knuckles' Unleashes have solid damage multipliers. Since the Umbra Knuckles only have three Unleashes to choose from, the strongest Unleash, Shadow Cannon, will come up more often compared to other endgame weapons like the Sol Blade. Additionally, all three Unleashes have useful side effects. Savage Raptor's Venom and Shadow Cannon's Stun chances are helpful when dealing with random encounters, while Feral Rush has the useful ability to heal damage done to Sveta.

If the player wants to take full advantage of the Umbra Knuckles, they should consider putting Sveta in the Scrapper class series. This class will not only raise her attack, but will increase her Venus Power, allowing her to do a great deal of damage with each Unleash's high damage multipliers.

Trivia

• Although it can't be bought or sold without the use of a hacking device, the Umbra Knuckles have been programmed with a purchase price of 11000 coins.
