Basically, the characters introduced in Dark Dawn you don't play as, without counting side characters or antagonists from previous games that make major return appearances.
I'm most interested in Volechek because of his physical design as a human-born demihuman different from all the elemental Adepts we've been familiar with in Golden Sun up until now, and of course because of having character that's in a moral gray area.
That's not to say I don't like all the other ones too; I really love the revelation about Blados and Chalis' elements as Adepts and their voices in battle, and Nowell has the potential to be a playable Mercury Adept in Golden Sun 4 just like Mia but with a personality that's a great contrast to Mia. Lastly, I'll say that I was impressed by Ryu Kou, who you could frankly argue is a deeper and more relevant character than most of the playable characters in any Golden Sun game. He starts out very flawed and abrasive, but is probably Golden Sun's biggest case of legitimate character development, and he really shouldn't be held accountable for the Grave Eclipse that he was effectively blackmailed into triggering because it's not like he or any of the good guys knew doing so would be cataclysmic to that degree.
